In Person About CAM Educational Services CAM Educational Services is an innovative educational organization providing high-quality afterschool tutoring, childcare, and enrichment programs in partnership with schools and communities throughout California. We are looking for an experienced, organized, and dependable Project Manager - Afterschool Programs to support the successful operation of our programs across Millbrae, South San Francisco, and San Mateo . This is an excellent opportunity for an education professional, program coordinator, site supervisor, project manager, or experienced youth-program leader who enjoys working with children, supporting staff, and building strong relationships with schools and communities. About the Role The Project Manager will oversee and support the day-to-day operations of assigned CAM Edu afterschool programs. This position requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The Project Manager will work closely with instructors, site staff, school administrators, families, and CAM Edu leadership to ensure programs are properly staffed, organized, safe, engaging, and aligned with school and district expectations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of assigned afterschool programs. Coordinate and support instructors, childcare staff, tutors, and other program team members. Ensure assigned programs are adequately staffed and operational. Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, schedules, and classroom coverage. Assist with staff scheduling and make adjustments based on program needs. Conduct regular site visits to monitor program operations and quality. Communicate regularly with school administrators and CAM Edu leadership. Build and maintain positive relationships with school and district partners. Support staff onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development. Monitor classroom quality, student engagement, and classroom management. Ensure staff follow CAM Edu policies, procedures, and safety expectations. Address staff, student, parent, and school concerns professionally and promptly. Assist with incident reporting, attendance tracking, and required documentation. Monitor program supplies, classroom materials, equipment, and other resources. Ensure classrooms are safe, clean, organized, and prepared for daily programming. Support implementation of curriculum, enrichment activities, and program schedules. Track staffing needs, operational concerns, and follow-up items. Provide regular updates and reports to CAM Edu management. Identify opportunities to improve program quality, efficiency, and staff performance. Assist with launching and supporting new school programs and initiatives. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management. Leadership & Staff Support The Project Manager will serve as a key resource for program staff and will be expected to: Provide clear direction and expectations to staff. Support instructors with classroom-management and student-related concerns. Monitor employee attendance, performance, and professionalism. Identify staffing gaps and communicate coverage needs promptly. Provide coaching and constructive feedback. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. Escalate employee concerns to CAM Edu leadership when appropriate. School & Community Relations Maintain professional communication with school administrators, teachers, and district representatives. Respond to school requests and follow up on operational concerns. Represent CAM Edu professionally at assigned school sites. Build positive relationships with school staff, families, and community partners. Help ensure programs meet school and district expectations. Support CAM Edu's long-term partnerships with schools and communities. Qualifications Experience in education, afterschool programs, childcare, youth development, program coordination, or project management preferred. Previous leadership, supervisory, or program-management experience strongly preferred. Experience supporting or managing teams of employees. Experience working with school-age children and youth programs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently while collaborating with CAM Edu leadership. Professional, dependable, flexible, and solution-oriented attitude. Comfortable working in a fast-paced educational environment. Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, Child Development, or a related field preferred but not required with relevant experience. Work Expectations Part-time position. Must be available to work in person at assigned school sites. Must be willing to support programs in Millbrae, South San Francisco, and San Mateo . Must be flexible with scheduling based on school and program needs. Must be available to travel between assigned sites when needed. Reliable transportation is strongly preferred. Must be responsive to time-sensitive staffing and operational matters. Must be comfortable working with children, school personnel, families, and employees. Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling student, employee, and school information. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Organized, dependable, and proactive.
