Project Manager - High-End Residential ConstructionJob Description This role is designed for a seasoned high-end residential builder who can manage complex renovation and addition projects, communicate confidently with homeowners, and balance both field and office responsibilities. The ideal candidate comes from the high-end residential sector, understands the nuances of working in owner-occupied homes, and can manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, safety, and client comfort. Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage high-end residential renovation and addition projects ranging from $500K+, including structural, interior, and framing-related scopes.
+ Oversee daily field operations, subcontractor coordination, sequencing, and schedule adherence across multiple active projects.
+ Maintain strong communication and presentation skills while working inside owner-occupied homes—especially on sensitive scopes like children's bathrooms or shared living spaces.
+ Split time between field and office (60/40) and stay within a typical territory spanning Milford to Greenwich.
+ Collaborate closely with internal design, engineering, and construction teams in a growing design-build environment. Essential Skills + 5+ years in high-end residential construction, specifically renovations and additions.
+ Understanding of carpentry, framing, or structural work (hands-on experience preferred).
+ Proven ability to manage $500K+ renovation projects from start to finish.
+ Comfortable running multiple projects at once without sacrificing quality or client experience.
+ Strong client-facing presence: knows what to say, what not to say, and how to maintain trust in owner-occupied environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Background in a design-build firm.
+ Experience with historic renovation or restoration.
+ Exposure to architecture, structural engineering, or service-based structural problem-solving.
+ Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and change orders (doesn't need to be an expert, just familiar).
+ Confident, polished communicator who can speak comfortably with homeowners and represent the company well.
+ Strong industry awareness—knows how high-end residential projects flow, where issues arise, and how to get ahead of them.
+ Calm, professional presence in occupied homes; prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and homeowner comfort above all else.
+ Reliable, organized, and able to juggle field activity with office responsibilities. +
Software:
Buildertrend is a plus (no specific proficiency in software is needed). Work Environment This role requires 60% of the time spent in the office in Fairfield, CT, and 40% on-site. The candidate must be comfortable with both environments. The bulk of projects are within a 20-minute radius from Fairfield, CT, with visits extending from Milford to Greenwich. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
