Job Description

Purpose and Scope of Position The Architectural Project Manager leads design projects for Mountain Studio Design (MSD) from initial client engagement through design development, coordinating internal production and external consultants to deliver accurate, buildable, and well-coordinated design packages. This role carries primary responsibility for client relationships, project budgets and schedules, and the quality and coordination of MSD's design and drafting deliverables. MSD provides drafting, visualization, and design consulting services and does not issue stamped architectural or engineering deliverables. Where a project requires stamped documents, this role coordinates directly with outside licensed architects and engineers engaged for that purpose, ensuring MSD's design work integrates cleanly into their scope of responsibility. This position is well suited to an experienced design professional who has managed complex projects end-to-end and is working toward architectural licensure, and who can operate independently in a remote, distributed team environment while maintaining close coordination with MSG leadership and project teams. Professional Licensure and Growth Path Mountain Studio Group supports this role's continued progress toward architectural licensure. Upon obtaining licensure, the title and scope of this position will be revisited to reflect the individual's expanded professional standing and capabilities. Organizational Relationship This position reports directly to the President of Mountain Studio Group, LLC. The Architectural Project Manager collaborates closely with MSD design and drafting staff, MSB (owner's representative/construction advisory) team members on shared projects, and external consultants including licensed architects, engineers, and other design professionals engaged on a project basis. Duties and Responsibilities Project Leadership and Client Management Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the design process, managing expectations, communication, and satisfaction Lead projects from initial programming and concept design through design development, coordinating scope, schedule, and budget Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans for assigned MSD projects Identify and communicate project risks, scope changes, and coordination issues to MSG leadership in a timely manner Design Production and Technical Oversight Direct and review the production of architectural drawings and 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM tools Ensure design documentation is accurate, coordinated, and consistent with MSD standards and client requirements Translate client goals and design direction into clear, buildable technical documentation and production plans Maintain and help evolve MSD's CAD/BIM standards, templates, and production workflows Consultant and Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate with outside licensed architects and engineers engaged for stamped deliverables, ensuring MSD's design work aligns with their requirements Lead coordination with multidisciplinary consultant teams, including structural, civil, and MEP, as applicable to each project Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and redline sessions using Bluebeam and related collaboration tools Coordinate with general contractors, owners, and owner's representatives across applicable project delivery methods Business Development and Presentation Develop client presentations, renderings, and graphics using tools such as Enscape, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud Support proposal development and qualifications materials for prospective MSD projects Represent MSD professionally in client-facing meetings, interviews, and project pursuits Team Support and Quality Standards Mentor and coordinate with MSD design and drafting staff to maintain quality, schedule, and client expectations Perform quality control reviews to confirm drawing accuracy, completeness, and alignment with MSD and industry standards Support document control, version tracking, and file management across project phases Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a closely related field (Master of Architecture preferred) 10+ years of professional experience in architectural project management, spanning commercial, public, and residential project types Associate AIA membership or equivalent professional standing; candidates who have completed AXP/IDP hours and are actively pursuing architectural licensure are strongly preferred Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams, client relationships, project budgets, and schedules on projects of significant scale and complexity Expert-level proficiency in Revit; working proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape (or similar rendering software), Adobe Creative Cloud, and Bluebeam Revu Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Personality Characteristics Strong command of architectural project management practices across the full project lifecycle, from programming through construction administration coordination Working knowledge of BIM coordination and model-based design processes Familiarity with building systems, materials, and construction methods across multiple project types and delivery methods Strong client relationship management and communication skills, including presentation and qualifications-interview experience Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and priorities with a high degree of independence Self-motivated and highly effective working remotely as part of a distributed team, with strong initiative and follow-through Demonstrated ability to mentor and coordinate junior design staff and production teams Adaptable and comfortable operating within an evolving, growth-stage organization Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are commonly used and must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Pay:
$95,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year
