Project Manager / Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater A leading construction company is seeking experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join its growing team in Barnstable/Hyannis, MA . This is an exciting opportunity to join a major $38M water treatment facility project currently in the construction phase, with completion anticipated in 2028. The company also has additional water treatment and PFAS-related projects contracted throughout Cape Cod, providing long-term opportunities for growth and advancement. We are open to hiring one or two professionals , depending on experience level.

Eligible for Senior PMs About the Role The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will play a key role in delivering complex water treatment and infrastructure projects from planning and procurement through construction and closeout. Water/wastewater construction experience is preferred, but candidates with strong experience in related construction environments will also be considered, including heavy civil, municipal infrastructure, utilities, pump stations, process piping, underground infrastructure, industrial facilities, and other plant construction . The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional who can work effectively with owners, subcontractors, field teams, vendors, and internal leadership to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and successfully. Project Manager Responsibilities Manage day-to-day project activities from construction through completion Coordinate with project executives, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and owners Assist with project planning, scheduling, procurement, buyout, and execution Monitor project costs, commitments, changes, and overall financial performance Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation Support subcontractor and vendor management Maintain project schedules and track progress against milestones Identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies Participate in owner and project meetings Coordinate closely with field operations to ensure project requirements are met Maintain accurate project records and documentation Support project closeout and turnover activities Utilize construction/project management software and technology effectively Senior Project Manager Responsibilities In addition to the responsibilities above, the Senior Project Manager will have greater ownership of the overall project and will be expected to: Lead the project from preconstruction/procurement through final completion Maintain financial responsibility and accountability for the project Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost controls Lead subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract management Manage project risk, changes, claims, and contractual obligations Develop and maintain strong owner and client relationships Coordinate project delivery with the Superintendent and field leadership Oversee project staffing, resources, and overall execution strategy Lead project meetings and communicate status to senior leadership Ensure schedule, cost, quality, and contractual objectives are achieved Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project staff QualificationsProject Manager Approximately 4+ years of relevant construction/project management experience Experience in water/wastewater, heavy civil, municipal infrastructure, utilities, industrial/process facilities, plant construction, or a related environment Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers ready to step into a PM role are encouraged to apply General contractor or construction management experience preferred Owner's Representative experience may also be considered Understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor management Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with both field and project teams Comfortable using construction/project management software and learning new systems Senior Project Manager Approximately 7+ years of relevant construction/project management experience Strong water/wastewater experience is highly desirable Experience managing complex plant, infrastructure, heavy civil, utility, industrial, or process construction projects may also be considered Demonstrated experience managing significant project scope, including: Project financials and cost controls Scheduling Subcontractors and trades Field operations Procurement and buyout Owner/client relationships Risk management Project delivery Experience managing projects in the $10M-$100M+ range is preferred Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders Strong technology and construction software aptitude Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required Equivalent relevant construction experience may substitute for a degree OSHA 30 is not required at hire LEED, Lean, CPR/First Aid, and other relevant certifications are welcome but not required Software Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or comparable construction/project management platforms is beneficial. Primavera P6 is not required . Strong technology aptitude and the ability to learn new systems are important.
