Job Description

Structural Steel Project Manager A well-established and growing miscellaneous fabricator/erector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee projects from award through closeout. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background managing misc. metals fabrication, erection, and field coordination. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle—ensuring schedules, budgets, communication, and execution remain aligned while delivering successful outcomes for clients and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Manage steel projects from contract award through final closeout Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting Coordinate with fabrication teams, detailers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and clients Lead project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships throughout execution Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents Monitor project progress, manpower planning, logistics, quality, and safety performance Manage procurement activities and support subcontractor/vendor negotiations Identify and resolve project issues proactively to maintain schedule and profitability Oversee project documentation, billing support, and final turnover Qualifications 5+ years of experience managing misc. metals fabrication and/or erection projects Strong understanding of steel construction methods, sequencing, and field operations Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience with scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and change management Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Experience Experience with commercial, industrial, or manufacturing steel projects Familiarity with AISC standards and structural steel industry best practices Previous experience working for a structural steel fabricator and/or erector Exposure to detailing, fabrication workflows, or shop coordination is a plus Compensation & Benefits $80,000-$100,000 DOE Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance PTO & Paid Holidays 401(k) Career advancement and long-term growth opportunities If you're an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager looking to join a reputable organization with a strong backlog and long-term opportunity, we'd like to connect. 📧 Send your resume to: justin.knitt@gogpac.com
