Job Description

J&R Specialties Inc., a trusted leader in Doors, Frames, Hardware, and Cabinetry in Western New York and surrounding regions since 2001, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a driven professional with a minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience to oversee key projects and contribute to our ongoing growth. In this role, you will take full ownership of projects from contract award through final closeout. Because our division operates primarily on a furnish-only model, clear jobsite communication, proactive vendor coordination, and strict logistics management are essential to ensuring timely delivery and project profitability.
Location:
Full-time, in-office position at our Akron, NY facility, with occasional jobsite visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management:
Safeguard project profit margins, proactively manage change orders, and ensure precise monthly billings.
Hardware Schedule & Technical Review:
Perform comprehensive take-offs and review hardware schedules prior to procurement to guarantee accuracy, verify proper handing, and eliminate conflicts early.
Electrified Hardware Integration:
Seamlessly coordinate electrified hardware and access control requirements across suppliers, architectural plans, and jobsite specifications.
Procurement & Submittals:
Prepare accurate submittals, track long-lead items, and manage order timelines to prevent delivery delays on site.
Vendor & Logistics Coordination:
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while overseeing end-to-end logistics to ensure complete and undamaged site deliveries.
Field Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for general contractors and field personnel, resolving jobsite inquiries efficiently.
Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of commercial construction project management experience with a focus on Doors, Frames, Hardware, or Cabinetry.
Code Knowledge:
Strong, up-to-date working knowledge of Fire Codes, Life Safety codes, and ADA compliance standards.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and technical specifications.
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrated ability to identify hardware conflicts, verify handing, and evaluate complex submittals and shop drawings.
Bonus Qualifications:
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, TOAD, or 2020 Design software is highly advantageous. Prior estimating experience is also strongly valued.

What We Offer Competitive Compensation:
Annual salary range of $75,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and technical skills.
