We operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where thorough communication is critical, deadlines are tight, and accuracy matters every single day. We are looking for an Environmental Project Manager to take complete ownership of projects within our Heating Oil Tank (HOT) team. While an environmental science background or degree is a great asset, the single most important quality we are looking for is a Project Manager who knows how to own a project from initial intake straight across the finish line. A strong background in construction, excavation, underground utilities, or environmental project management is highly desirable. Experience with Heating Oil Tanks (HOT), Underground Storage Tanks (UST), environmental remediation, soil sampling, or ODEQ regulations is a major advantage. This department specializes in decommissioning and removals of underground heating oil tanks (HOT), above ground storage tanks (UST), ESAs, and stormwater compliance across the Portland Metro area. What You'll Be Doing Run the
Show Start-to-Finish:
Take total ownership of heating oil tank locating, decommissioning, removals, soil sampling, and remediation jobs - from day one through final ODEQ closure. Keep the
Momentum Going:
Manage timelines, deliverables, and milestones across an active project load to ensure every job lands on time and on target. Part of a
Team:
Work with our Field Supervisor & Department Manager to transform project goals into field action, making sure site specs and logistics are locked down. Be the
Client Champion:
Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners, commercial clients, realtors, and inspectors, delivering quick, clear updates and keeping everyone in the loop on progress.
Lock Down Compliance & Details:
Review and finalize project reports, soil sampling data, and ODEQ regulatory files with total accuracy.
Crush Obstacles On-the-Fly:
Spot site challenges early, adapt to shifting scopes, and clear away project bottlenecks before they ever slow down a job.
Qualifications The Core Track Record of Ownership:
3+ years managing projects from start to finish (construction, environmental, excavation, or utility settings preferred).
Execution Focus:
A habit of taking full accountability for project success, details, and deadlines.
Great Communication:
Clear, proactive communication across all channels with clients, crews, and regulators.
Tech Skills:
Digital fluency with project management tools, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
Essentials:
Valid driver's license and a clean record.
Bonus Points Education:
Background or degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
Industry Know-How:
Familiarity with Heating Oil Tanks (HOT), Underground Storage Tanks (UST), soil/groundwater sampling, or ODEQ compliance.
