Project Coordinator - Commercial Fiber & Telecom Deployment Onetel Connect | Sandy, UT (Hybrid) Full Job Description Most Project Coordinator roles put you behind a desk managing spreadsheets for projects you don't understand. This is not that job. This role requires real telecom experience, not general project coordination experience with no fiber or telecom background. We are looking for someone who has already worked hands-on in commercial fiber and telecom deployment and genuinely understands what it takes to get a complex build across the finish line, including multi-location commercial projects that require site surveys, permitting, and careful coordination across every stakeholder involved. You will coordinate B2B fiber/telecom deployment projects end to end, working directly with carriers, vendors, and field teams to keep builds moving. About Onetel Connect Onetel Connect is not a carrier. We are not a reseller. We sit on the client's side of the table as a provider-agnostic technology advisor, helping mid-market businesses navigate decisions across connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, communications, and AI. With access to hundreds of vetted providers and a white-glove project management model, we eliminate the friction and bias that comes with traditional vendor-driven sales. Since our founding, we have completed more than 2,300 projects across 46 states. Our clients trust us because we have no incentive to push a product. We only win when they get the right solution. We are a small, agile team. We move fast, we trust each other, and we do not measure success by how long you sit at your desk. We measure it by projects delivered on time and done right. The Role This is a hands-on coordination role for commercial fiber and telecom deployment projects, including complex multi-location builds for B2B clients. You will manage circuit installation, site surveys, carrier and vendor coordination, permitting and right-of-way processes, and network cutovers, working closely with field crews and stakeholders to keep every build on track. You will own project coordination from planning through turn-up, making sure nothing falls through the cracks across single-site and multi-location commercial deployments. What You Will Do Coordinate end-to-end commercial fiber/telecom circuit installation projects, from design through construction and turn-up Conduct or oversee site surveys for single and multi-location commercial builds Work directly with carriers and vendors to keep builds on schedule and within scope Manage permitting and right-of-way processes required for fiber construction Plan and support network cutovers and migrations with minimal service disruption Track project timelines, budgets, and risks across multiple sites, and communicate status to stakeholders Coordinate with field crews, engineers, and municipal or utility contacts as needed Maintain accurate, up-to-date project records and status reporting What You Bring You are probably a fit if you: Have 3-5 years of project coordination or project management experience specifically in telecom/fiber deployment Have direct, hands-on experience with commercial fiber/telecom circuit installation and construction Have experience conducting or overseeing site surveys, ideally for multi-location commercial projects Have experience coordinating with carriers and vendors (any major carrier/vendor background works — no specific company required) Have experience with permitting and right-of-way processes for fiber builds Have experience supporting or managing network cutovers or migrations Have strong organizational and communication skills, and are comfortable working with both field teams and B2B stakeholders This role is not a fit if your experience is limited to general project coordination with no hands-on fiber or telecom-specific work, or if you have never handled a multi-location commercial build. What's Not Required No specific certifications (PMP, BICSI, etc.) required — we care about real, hands-on telecom project experience over paper credentials What Success Looks Like First 30 Days Complete onboarding on Onetel Connect's service offerings, project workflows, and client base Shadow senior team members on active commercial fiber builds to understand our process end to end Begin supporting assigned projects and building relationships with carrier/vendor contacts First 90 Days Coordinating commercial fiber/telecom projects independently from planning through turn-up Managing site surveys, permitting, right-of-way, and cutover processes with minimal oversight Keeping project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication consistently on track across single and multi-location builds Actively building relationships with field crews, carriers, and vendor partners Compensation $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Why Onetel Connect Real project ownership: work on commercial fiber builds that matter, not busywork A small, high-trust team where your work is visible and your impact is real Autonomy to execute: we care about results, not how you fill your calendar A proven track record: 2,300+ projects across 46 states gives you real, substantial work to be part of A clear growth path as the team scales
