Full-Time Position Summary The House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, safety, compliance, and recovery-focused culture of McCleary Manor, a NARR Level II and MASH-certified recovery residence serving up to 50 adult men in recovery from substance use disorders. The House Manager provides leadership, supervision, and support to residents while ensuring adherence to all Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing (MASH) and National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standards. The House Manager serves as a positive role model, fostering a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented environment where residents can build healthy lifestyles, maintain sobriety, develop life skills, and work toward long-term recovery goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Recovery Residence Operations Oversee daily operations of the recovery residence. Ensure compliance with all NARR Level II and MASH standards. Maintain a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment. Conduct regular property inspections and room checks. Monitor resident compliance with house rules, curfews, and recovery expectations. Address resident concerns, conflicts, and behavioral issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensure appropriate documentation of incidents, violations, grievances, and resident progress. Resident Support & Recovery Engagement Conduct resident orientations and admissions. Review and explain resident agreements, handbook policies, and house rules. Assist residents in developing individualized recovery plans and goals. Encourage participation in mutual-aid recovery meetings, treatment programs, employment, education, and community engagement. Monitor resident progress and accountability. Provide support, encouragement, and referrals to community resources. Facilitate weekly house meetings and recovery-focused activities. Compliance & Documentation Maintain resident files and required program documentation. Ensure completion of all required admission, discharge, and incident reports. Track occupancy, vacancies, and waitlists. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies. Prepare reports and statistics as requested by leadership. Assist with MASH certification reviews, audits, and site visits. Property Management Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, and cleanliness concerns. Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate facility needs. Ensure common areas, resident rooms, and grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming. Monitor resident completion of assigned chores and responsibilities. Coordinate move-ins and move-outs. Crisis Intervention & Safety Respond appropriately to emergencies, overdoses, relapses, conflicts, and behavioral incidents. Administer or coordinate emergency response procedures when necessary. Maintain familiarity with Narcan administration and overdose prevention practices. Coordinate with treatment providers, recovery coaches, emergency services, and community partners as needed. Ensure all safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed. Leadership & Community Building Foster a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and peer support. Promote resident leadership and community engagement. Support resident councils and peer-led initiatives. Collaborate with Providence Ministries leadership and community partners to strengthen recovery support services. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Minimum two years of experience working in recovery housing, behavioral health, substance use treatment, social services, or a related field. Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery pathways, harm reduction principles, and community resources. Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Ability to establish professional boundaries while maintaining supportive relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Recovery Coaching, or a related field. Certified Recovery Coach (CARC/CRPA) credential. Previous supervisory experience. Experience working within NARR and MASH-certified recovery residences. CPR, First Aid, and Narcan certification. Recovery Experience Individuals with lived experience in recovery are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates in recovery should have a minimum of two years of sustained recovery. Physical Requirements Ability to walk throughout a multi-floor facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond to emergencies and facility-related incidents. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
