Cou & Seasonal Resident are looking for a Store Manager to lead our Nantucket stores. The role can begin this fall or ahead of next summer's season, depending on the right candidate's timing and availability. For someone available now, there's an opportunity to join us in-store as early as September and work through Christmas Stroll — getting to know the businesses, our customers, and the island before taking on the full season next year. If you're not available until spring, that's okay too. We care more about finding the right long-term fit than forcing a specific start date. The Role This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership of the day-to-day success of two brands on Nantucket. You'll own: Day-to-day store operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, inventory and shipments Hiring, scheduling and developing our seasonal team Sales performance — hitting targets and understanding what's driving the business Visual merchandising and keeping both stores true to their brands Creating a genuinely warm, personal experience for our customers Building relationships with neighboring businesses and the Nantucket community Preparing for and managing the significant seasonal ramp each spring and summer Who We're Looking For We'd ideally like someone with 2+ years of experience managing a team in a customer-facing business. Retail experience is helpful, but it isn't essential. If you've managed a restaurant, hotel, hospitality team, etc.. we'd like to hear from you. We can teach you the product. What matters more to us is how you operate: You take ownership and don't need to be told what needs doing You're steady when it's busy and productive when it's quiet You know how to lead a team while still being willing to jump onto the floor yourself You can build schedules around the realities of a seasonal workforce Comfortable managing people You understand the rhythm of a seasonal business You genuinely enjoy creating a warm, welcoming environment for customers and staff Compensation & Seasonality We're open to a couple of different versions of this role depending on the right person. Nantucket season — approximately May through

October & Stroll:

[$45,000-$55,000] If that's the right structure for you, the off-season is genuinely yours. You're free to travel, pursue other work, or do whatever you'd like from roughly December through April. Nantucket + Palm Beach winter season: [$65,000-$75,000] For someone interested in working more of the year, there's an opportunity to work with us at our Palm Beach stores during the Nantucket off-season. This expands both the scope and the compensation of the role. We do not provide housing in Palm Beach, so the winter option is best suited to someone who already has housing in the area or is comfortable arranging it independently. Palm Beach is not required. We're happy to consider a great candidate who wants Nantucket to be their primary season and prefers to keep their winters free. Final compensation depends on experience, availability, and which structure makes sense for you. Nantucket Housing We know housing is one of the biggest considerations when working on Nantucket. We can provide housing and/or housing support as part of the overall package, depending on the candidate and their individual situation. We're intentionally keeping this flexible — the specifics will depend on timing, availability, and what you need.
