We are expanding our office due to growth and are excited to be adding another Property Manager/ Certified Occupancy Specialist position! Duties
Conduct interviews with residents to determine eligibility for housing assistance programs
Verify income, assets, and household composition of applicants and residents
Calculate rent subsidies and determine tenant rent portions based on program guidelines
Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files and records
Process move-ins and transfers of residents
Assist with property leasing activities and processing applications
Process annual and interim recertifications of residents
Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with the property management team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and program requirements
Coordinate with maintenance staff to address maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
Coordinate with the property management team to market vacancies Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in property management is a plus
Prior experience as an Occupancy Specialist or similar role in affordable housing or property management is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Knowledge of affordable housing programs such as Section 8, LIHTC, Rural Development, or other subsidy programs is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Familiarity with property leasing processes and procedures is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Proficiency in using property management software is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of fair housing laws and regulations is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
Ability to effectively manage conflicts and resolve issues with residents
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
