Job Description

We are expanding our office due to growth and are excited to be adding another Property Manager/ Certified Occupancy Specialist position! Duties
  • Conduct interviews with residents to determine eligibility for housing assistance programs
  • Verify income, assets, and household composition of applicants and residents
  • Calculate rent subsidies and determine tenant rent portions based on program guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files and records
  • Process move-ins and transfers of residents
  • Assist with property leasing activities and processing applications
  • Process annual and interim recertifications of residents
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the property management team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and program requirements
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
  • Coordinate with the property management team to market vacancies Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in property management is a plus
  • Prior experience as an Occupancy Specialist or similar role in affordable housing or property management is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs such as Section 8, LIHTC, Rural Development, or other subsidy programs is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with property leasing processes and procedures is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in using property management software is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of fair housing laws and regulations is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicts and resolve issues with residents
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
