Job Description

General Statement of Duties Supervises all functions of a program, supported employment, vocational, or developmental unit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Oversees staff including Training Specialists and Training Assistants, while operating semi-independently under the general supervision of senior management. Essential Duties We are looking for an Employment Supervisor for IDD individuals to join our engaged supervisory team. Experience with employment services, working with IDD individuals, Supported Employment, Medicaid and Pre-ETS helpful. Looking for an energetic supervisor to lead a team of experienced staff into the next phase of our employment program. Good communication skills are essential along with building partnerships, helping staff reach their potential, managing budgets, billing, and good data collection skills. Demonstrates leadership qualities such as a belief in learning, growing, and incorporating the ideas of staff into decisions. This position supervises 7 Employment Specialists serving almost 100 individuals in our three-county area. Knowledge of best practices in employment services and CARF is preferred. Considerable knowledge of principles of developmental disability or chronic mental illness as applicable to the assigned program; knowledge of normal and abnormal psychology, family and group dynamics, administration, and supervision. Ability to ensure program compliance with Medicaid, licensure, and accreditation standards; capable of developing program plans and written procedures. Ability to effect and maintain good working relationships with clients, family, the public, and professionals in the field; effectively counsels families and conducts training. Ability to work independently and make independent judgments while managing a unit. Supervises staff, evaluates performance, conducts training activities, and provides programmatic oversight for case management or residential units. Additional Information The expected salary will be in the low-to mid-range of the listed salary scale. TB screening; Child Protective Services (CPS) check; A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee. This position requires a bachelor's degree and/or experience that would meet qualification of a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP).

Minimum Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or a related field, and two (2) years of professional experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
