Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the Public Information Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing districtwide public information, media relations, digital communications, multimedia engagement, and community outreach efforts that communicate the programs, services, priorities, and accomplishments of the Salinas Union High School District. This responsibility includes ensuring the District, Board, and Superintendent priorities are communicated with the community on a daily basis, developing and maintaining effective communication channels, including website, social media, video, and digital media platforms, that provide timely, accurate, and accessible information to students, staff, families, and the community. The Public Information Officer leads district communication objectives through multimedia content development, daily updates on all social media channels, engagement of all levels of the organization with digital storytelling, lead public information campaigns, lead event planning and communications, and lead strategic engagement efforts that strengthen awareness, understanding, and participation in district initiatives. Qualifications Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public relations
Communications or marketing experience
Five (5) years of leadership experience and record of accomplishment in school, public or corporate sector communications that includes directing broad ranging communications and marketing strategy programs
Demonstrated successful experience in the writing and production of web content and social media
Desirable Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field
California Driver's License and evidence of insurability
Bilingual and Biliterate in the Spanish Language
