Cranbury, New Jersey Description Community Grants, Planning & Housing (CGP&H) is seeking a full-time Affordable Housing Manager to join our dynamic, growing organization. CGP&H is a leader in affordable housing administration, housing rehabilitation programs, and program administration. We work with cities, towns, counties, regional entities, non-profit organizations, developers and landlords across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania - all working collaboratively to build vibrant, welcoming and affordable communities. This position offers the opportunity to grow into an affordable housing expert within a mission-driven organization, meaningfully impacting a critical public policy priority for municipalities throughout New Jersey.
Who we are looking for:
A motivated professional with a passion for public service and an interest in and willingness to learn affordable housing and community development. A positive, personable and confident communicator who is comfortable interfacing with a wide range of stakeholders including municipal planners, attorneys, developers and regulatory agencies. An organized project manager with experience managing multiple projects with critical timelines. What the Affordable Housing Manager will do: CGP&H serves as the Administrative Agent for both rental and ownership inclusionary affordable homes in developments across all of New Jersey. This position will work closely with Municipalities and internal staff to manage complex affordable housing portfolios and serve as the regulatory subject matter expert for a portfolio of municipal clients. What experiences and background would make you the ideal candidate: Affordable housing or other housing assistance-related programs or regulations Community development or Municipal planning Policy development and/or implementation Public/private partnerships Compliance, Continuous Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance 5+ years of experience in these or other relevant fields. Prior experience in New Jersey affordable housing is preferred, not required. Full training will be provided. A relevant master's degree may be substituted for experience. What skills and competencies we are looking for: Understanding and implementing regulations, regulatory agreements, and/ or contract language. Working independently with minimal oversight while also working within the team to share knowledge, achieve programmatic goals, and work through challenges. Solving problems efficiently while staying composed and thinking clearly through challenging situations. Managing multiple deadlines, complex documentation, and competing priorities, with exceptional attention to detail. Maintaining timely, accurate and organized files and records, including documentation of decisions and issues to support transparency and accountability. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships across teams to promote collaboration and teamwork in support of shared affordable housing goals. Providing regulatory compliance guidance and technical assistance to housing providers, municipalities, and private developers while working collaboratively with other subject matter experts. Asking the right questions, proactively identifying gaps in knowledge or information. Utilizing computer systems such as the MS Office suit and database software such as salesforce.
