Position Summary:
Performs receiving duties. Verifies and keeps records of incoming shipments from suppliers using packing lists, freight bills, invoices, and similar documents. Packs or unpacks items and delivers each item to its proper requisitioner, department, or stock location. Assists the Purchasing department in determining what needs to be ordered.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Transport incoming shipments with a forklift, by hand, or other material handling equipment Inspects and unpacks all incoming shipments checking for damage Confirms each item against its purchase order checking quantity, part number and quality following the guidelines of QA inspection Maintain accurate files on all packages received and returned Works with the Purchasing Manager and Accounting to rectify damages, discrepancies and quality issues Assist the Purchasing department with determining purchase requisitions from other departments and what specifically needs to be ordered Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
Familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, freight bills, and similar documents Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must be detail oriented and pay close attention to all paperwork involved Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using fractions and decimals Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Able to use a pallet jack and become forklift certified, if not already with certification Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs.
Required education and experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training Equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay:
