Laundry Operations Clerk - Heritage Trail Correctional Facility in Plainfield, IN $16.07/hour | Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. | No Weekends | Paid Holidays Looking for a stable full-time position with a consistent weekday schedule that offers a great work/home life balance. This is a permanent, full-time W-2 position employed by Action Staffing and assigned to work onsite at HTCF. This is not temporary, temp-to-hire, or a 1099 position. We currently have multiple full-time positions available at HTCF with similar schedules and benefits. About the Position The Laundry Operations Clerk helps support and oversee the daily operations of the facility laundry department. This is not primarily a hands-on laundry production position. Trained offender workers perform the routine laundry processing while the Laundry Operations Clerk helps oversee workflow, maintain records, track inventory and ensure department procedures are followed. The department consists of the Operations Clerk and a small team of screened and approved offender workers. The laundry area is located alongside other facility departments within the same work area. Responsibilities Monitor daily laundry workflow and distribution Provide direction and oversight to assigned offender workers Maintain accurate offender counts and department documentation Complete logs, reports, inventories and routine maintenance checks Monitor laundry supplies and stocked items Inspect linens, towels, clothing and laundry bags for replacement needs Report equipment or maintenance concerns Maintain an organized and clean work area Follow all facility safety and security procedures Assist with laundry operations during lockdowns or staffing shortages when necessary Perform other related duties as assigned Paid Training All new hires complete approximately 5 weeks of paid department of corrections training at the neighboring correctional facility, IYC. Training includes classroom instruction, facility policies and procedures, safety and security training, hands-on personal protection and on-the-job training to prepare you to work confidently within a correctional environment. This minimum-security correctional facility houses 900 adult male offenders in a structured dormitory-style environment with an emphasis on rehabilitation, education, work programs and successful reentry. Due to the location of the facility no sex offenders are housed at HTCF.
