Construction Scheduler - Mid-Level New England Infrastructure, Inc. (NEI) is seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to join our team and support a growing portfolio of heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout New England. This is not an entry-level scheduling position. We are looking for someone who understands construction, can think critically about how work will actually be built, and can translate a project team's plan into a realistic and defensible CPM schedule. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and has developed and maintained schedules for New England DOT or other public infrastructure projects. What You'll Do Develop detailed CPM baseline schedules in Primavera P6 Prepare and maintain monthly schedule updates Work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to understand actual project progress and upcoming work Develop logical sequencing, durations, calendars, constraints, and resource considerations that reflect the project's actual construction plan Review contract documents, specifications, staging requirements, milestones, and work restrictions Identify critical and near-critical activities, schedule risks, delays, and opportunities Prepare schedule narratives and supporting documentation for owner submissions Assist project teams with recovery planning and schedule mitigation when projects fall behind Support time-impact analyses, time-extension requests, and delay documentation as needed Participate in schedule review and planning meetings with project teams, owners, and agencies What We're Looking For 3-7+ years of construction scheduling, project controls, or relevant heavy civil construction experience Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 Experience working with MassDOT, RIDOT, MaineDOT, NHDOT, ConnDOT, or similar public agencies Understanding of CPM scheduling principles and construction sequencing Experience with heavy civil, bridge, roadway, utility, or infrastructure construction Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and staging requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to challenge assumptions, identify problems, and work collaboratively with project teams to develop solutions Comfortable taking ownership of assignments and working independently What Makes Someone Successful at NEI At NEI, scheduling isn't just about maintaining a P6 file. Our schedules are working project-management tools. Successful candidates are curious about how and why the work is being built, are comfortable working with both field and office personnel, and aren't afraid to ask questions when a construction plan or schedule doesn't make sense. We value people who take ownership, communicate directly, solve problems, and want to continuously improve how we plan and execute our work. About NEI New England Infrastructure, Inc. is a heavy civil contractor performing complex infrastructure work throughout New England. Our projects provide schedulers the opportunity to work closely with experienced construction professionals and have a meaningful role in project planning, execution, and problem solving.
