Job Description

Crystal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) is seeking an experienced Contract Coordinator to support and oversee the successful performance of multiple government food service contracts. CEI is a growing government contractor providing food service and other operational support services to federal, state, and institutional clients. As our contract portfolio continues to expand, we are looking for a hands-on professional who can work directly with our on-site managers to ensure each operation meets its contractual requirements, achieves its financial targets, and consistently delivers excellent service to our clients. This is not simply an administrative contract position. The Contract Coordinator will serve as a key link between CEI's corporate leadership and our on-site management teams. The successful candidate will understand both the operational and financial sides of contract food service and be comfortable holding managers accountable for results while also coaching and supporting them in achieving those results. Key Responsibilities The Contract Coordinator will: Provide ongoing oversight and support for multiple government food service contracts. Conduct structured weekly meetings with each Site Manager to review operational and financial performance. Review weekly Prime Reports and other operating reports , identifying trends, variances, problem areas, and opportunities to improve profitability. Coach managers on achieving established targets for labor, food cost, productivity, purchasing, scheduling, and other key performance indicators. Assist managers in developing corrective action plans when performance falls below established goals. Monitor contract requirements and help ensure continued compliance with each contract's Statement of Work, performance standards, staffing requirements, reporting obligations, and other contractual requirements. Maintain familiarity with the requirements and deliverables of each assigned government contract. Support managers in resolving operational challenges before they negatively affect contract performance or client relationships. Monitor staffing levels, overtime, scheduling, employee productivity, and labor utilization. Review food costs, purchasing practices, inventory controls, waste, and other controllable operating expenses. Help establish and maintain consistent operating procedures across CEI food service locations. Conduct periodic site visits and operational reviews. Assist with government inspections, audits, performance reviews, and corrective actions when necessary. Maintain strong professional relationships with government representatives, Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), facility personnel, and other client stakeholders as appropriate. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, employee performance, and contract profitability. Provide senior management with regular updates regarding contract performance, risks, staffing concerns, compliance issues, and financial results. Assist with the startup and transition of newly awarded contracts as CEI continues to grow.
Qualifications Required:
Previous experience in government contracting, contract administration, or government contract operations . Previous management or multi-unit supervisory experience . Professional experience in food service operations , preferably institutional, military, healthcare, education, corrections, or other high-volume contract food service environments. Demonstrated understanding of contract compliance and performance requirements. Experience reviewing operating results and using financial or performance reports to improve business performance. Ability to analyze labor costs, food costs, productivity, and other key operating metrics. Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills. Ability to hold managers accountable while maintaining positive and productive working relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts, priorities, deadlines, and operating issues simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred:
Experience managing or overseeing multiple food service locations or contracts. Experience working on federal, state, or local government food service contracts. Familiarity with government Statements of Work, quality-control requirements, COR relationships, and contract performance evaluations. Experience with contract startup, transition, or mobilization. Experience managing P&L performance or responsibility for food cost, labor cost, and operating budgets. ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent food safety credential. The Person We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that successful contract management requires more than simply meeting the technical requirements of a contract. Our ideal candidate knows how to manage through managers . You should be comfortable reviewing the numbers, asking the right questions, identifying the reason a location is missing its targets, and then working with the Site Manager to correct the problem. At the same time, you must understand the importance of contract compliance and maintaining strong relationships with our government clients. You will be joining CEI during a period of significant growth. The right person will have an opportunity to help develop the management systems and operating standards we use as our contract portfolio continues to expand. What Success Looks Like Success in this position means: Contracts are compliant. Managers know their numbers. Problems are identified early. Corrective actions are followed through. Clients are satisfied. And each operation performs profitably. If you have experience in government contracting, food service operations, and managing managers—and enjoy improving the performance of multiple operations—we would like to hear from you. Crystal Enterprises, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
