Job Overview The Quoting & Commercial Operations Specialist executes accurate and timely customer quotations. Approximately 60% of the role is focused on quoting CNC machined components, including CNC Swiss turning and CNC milling. Quotations are developed for the complete manufacturing process. This includes required secondary operations and supporting processes such as deburring, cleaning, passivation, heat treatment, surface finishing, laser marking, inspection, outside processing, packaging, and other applicable manufacturing or quality requirements. The position reviews engineering drawings and specifications, interprets dimensions and GD&T, develops and validates manufacturing cost inputs, performs required calculations, compiles supplier pricing and lead-time information, and coordinates quotations through technical and commercial review. The remaining 40% supports Commercial Operations, including Customer Success, projects, reporting, data maintenance, and other departmental priorities. Quoting is the primary responsibility of the position, and other Commercial Operations activities are prioritized around quoting workload and business needs. The role supports one standardized quoting process across C-Axis facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute customer quotations after Sales has completed the RFQ intake and provided the required customer information, including quantities or volumes, drawings, CAD files when applicable, specifications, revisions, target timing, and special requirements. Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for CNC machined components to identify dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, materials, features, manufacturing processes, inspection requirements, and raw-material requirements needed for quotation; coordinate technical inputs with Engineering when required. Develop and validate quotation cost inputs, including raw-material utilization, setup time, cycle time, tooling, outside processing, inspection requirements, scrap or yield assumptions, supplier pricing, lead times, and other applicable manufacturing cost drivers. Perform and validate the mathematical and dimensional calculations required for quoting, including unit conversions, material utilization, quantities, percentages, measurements, dimensional calculations, and basic manufacturing geometry. Complete, verify, and reconcile accurate quotation data in the Quote Entry Template, AMFG, JobBOSS, Quote Log, Teams channels, and other approved systems, ensuring required fields are complete, accurate, and traceable. Request, track, and compile raw-material, tooling, outside-processing, supplier pricing, lead times, and other cost inputs required to complete the quotation package. Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to resolve missing inputs, manage quote due dates, support final technical and commercial review, and prepare complete quotation packages for submission. Manage assigned quotations against established turnaround targets; proactively identify missing information, delays, and blockers, escalate issues when required, and maintain accurate quote status and due dates. Coordinate required technical and commercial reviews and approvals in accordance with the established quoting workflow. This position prepares and coordinates the quotation but does not independently override required Engineering, Quality, Finance, or commercial approvals. Support Customer Success activities as assigned, including production or repeat quotations, customer information requests, order-related data, and PO / Order Acknowledgment support. Support commercial and customer projects by maintaining action items, schedules, documentation, presentations, and follow-up activities. Maintain accurate Commercial Operations data and support reporting, quote metrics, pipeline information, dashboards, month-end data quality, and other business analyses. Participate in process improvement, procedure documentation, data-quality initiatives, quoting-system implementation, automation, and other Commercial Operations responsibilities or special projects as assigned. Work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision while maintaining timely communication and follow-up. Other responsibilities may be assigned, as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. The Quoting & Commercial Operations Specialist reports to the Customer Success & Program Manager and works cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance, and other applicable functions to complete quotations and assigned Commercial Operations activities.
