About Sign Fab Sign Fab is a wholesale sign manufacturer with facilities in Stoutland, MO; St. Louis, MO; and Charleston, MS. We're a growing, family-led company where leadership works directly alongside the crews on the floor, not from behind a desk. Our teams are cross-trained, close-knit, and used to talking directly with each other and with leadership to get jobs done right. We run lean, which means we're always looking to remove what slows people down rather than asking them to work faster. About the Role The Production Coordinator keeps the facility's jobs moving on schedule across departments while maintaining clear communication with crews and leadership. It's a coordination and visibility role rather than a hands-on production position; however, you may occasionally help resolve obstacles on the production floor when needed. Relationships matter as much as the schedule. By being approachable and steady under pressure, you'll earn the trust that helps crews raise problems before they become late for jobs. What You'll Do
- Own the job schedule and production tracking for the facility. Know what's due, what's behind, and what's next.
- Build real working relationships with leads and crews in every department. Trust is what gets a problem flagged to you early.
- Be the first point of contact when a job is stuck, missing information, or blocked, and make it easy for people to raise issues early.
- Communicate schedule changes, priority shifts, and rework issues clearly to department leads and to leadership.
- Track and report KPIs tied to on-time completion, rework, and throughput.
- Identify floor inefficiencies and work with leads to remove process barriers.
- Keep training materials, logs, and onboarding content current as processes change.
- Build daily cooperation across the floor by being approachable, steady, and fair.
What This Role Isn't This is a coordination role, not a supervisory one. The Production Coordinator doesn't handle disciplinary action or performance reviews. Those responsibilities stay with the production manager. Your influence here comes from consistency, follow-through, and relationships, not authority What We're Looking For
- Someone who naturally builds relationships and encourages leads and crews to communicate openly.
- Comfortable reading a room and a schedule at the same time; calm when a day starts going sideways.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with experience using scheduling, ERP, or production tracking tools.
- Manufacturing, production, or production floor experience preferred.
- Clear, direct communicator who is comfortable delivering both good news and bad news to leads and leadership.
- Curious and improvement-minded and willing to question "that's how it's always been done.
