Monetti Custom Homes

Construction Operations Coordinator

Job Description

Construction Operations Coordinator Monetti Custom Homes | Point Pleasant, New Jersey Full-Time, In-Person | $130,000-$155,000 per year, based on qualifications This position is for a legacy custom home builder serving Monmouth County and northern Ocean County, New Jersey. Our reputation has been built on exceptional craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, strong relationships, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. As a close-knit, team-oriented company, we take tremendous pride not only in the custom homes we build and renovate, but in the experience we provide throughout the process and long after. Our continued growth has brought an increasing number of complex custom residential projects, creating an opportunity to add an experienced professional who can help strengthen the systems, communication, and coordination behind our work. We aren't simply looking to fill a position. We're looking for the right person to become a trusted, long-term member of our team and help us continue growing without compromising the quality and personal service that have defined the firm. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Construction Operations Coordinator to work collaboratively across our construction, project management, office, client, vendor, and trade-partner relationships. This is not a traditional administrative coordinator position, nor is it a role designed to manage a team of direct reports. Instead, this person will serve as an important connection point across the company—helping ensure that information is communicated, schedules and commitments are maintained, established procedures are followed with accountability, and the many moving pieces of complex custom residential construction remain organized. The ideal candidate combines extensive residential construction knowledge with exceptional organizational ability. You understand how a home gets built, can confidently read complex custom plans, communicate effectively with experienced construction professionals, clients, vendors, and trades, and recognize when something needs attention before it becomes a problem. Just as importantly, you have a systems-oriented mindset. You'll help us strengthen and implement established processes that allow our team to work more efficiently as the company grows. What You'll Do Work collaboratively with ownership, project management, construction, and office personnel to coordinate projects and maintain clear communication across the company. Help manage and continuously improve construction schedules, milestones, and internal coordination systems. Track deadlines, commitments, selections, outstanding decisions, and other critical project information to help keep projects moving forward constantly. Identify potential scheduling, communication, or operational issues early and help coordinate solutions before they impact a project. Support the implementation and consistent use of existing company systems, processes, and standard operating procedures. Identify opportunities to improve workflows and develop practical, repeatable systems that increase organization, accountability, and efficiency. Read and interpret detailed custom residential plans and apply construction knowledge when coordinating project information. Communicate and coordinate effectively with all employees, established trade partners, vendors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Utilize construction management software and other technology to maintain accurate, accessible project information and improve communication. Apply estimating and technical construction knowledge when supporting project planning and coordination. Maintain a high level of organization across multiple active custom residential projects and competing priorities. Help resolve conflicts and communication gaps professionally, constructively, with good judgment, and maintain this strong stability. Build strong relationships with clients and provide the responsive, personal service expected of the firm. Contribute ideas and solutions that help the firm continue to grow while maintaining the quality, attention to detail, and client experience for which the company is known. Who We're Looking For Construction experience is essential, but this position requires more than technical knowledge. We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, confident, personable, assertive when necessary, and highly emotionally intelligent . You communicate well with different personalities, understand when to lead and when to listen, and approach challenges with the goal of finding a solution rather than assigning blame. Candidate must be willing to receive constructive criticism without any excuse and/or finger pointing. You should be comfortable working independently while remaining highly collaborative. Our team operates with distinct areas of responsibility, but successful projects depend on everyone understanding how their work connects. The right candidate will take ownership without ego. You'll be confident in your experience without needing to be the loudest voice in the room, comfortable holding people and processes accountable, and willing to jump in wherever your knowledge can help move a project forward. Most importantly, we're looking for someone interested in building a long-term future with the firm and contributing to a close-knit company during an important period of growth. Experience & Qualifications Strongly preferred: 10+ years of relevant experience in custom, semi-custom, high-end residential, production residential construction, or a combination thereof, with the depth of construction knowledge necessary to operate effectively in a custom-home environment. Strong ability and experience utilizing AI technology. Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, techniques, sequencing, and best practices. Ability to confidently read, understand, and interpret complex custom residential construction plans. Knowledge of flood-zone and coastal residential construction requirements, techniques, and building code practices. Demonstrate experience coordinating complex construction schedules, project milestones, trades, vendors, and competing priorities. Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience with estimating and other technical aspects of residential construction. Familiarity with client selections and integrating selections into project schedules and workflows. Construction management software proficiency; experience with platforms such as Buildertrend is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to build productive relationships with homeowners, trade partners, vendors, suppliers, and colleagues. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Comfort learning, implementing, and improving operational systems and processes. Focus on "team". A bachelor's degree is not required . Relevant construction experience, industry knowledge, judgment, communication ability, and demonstrated success are more important to us than a specific educational path. Relevant construction licenses or certifications are welcome but are not required. Candidates must have a valid New Jersey driver's license and reliable personal transportation. Travel between our Ocean County office, jobsites, vendors, and other project-related locations should be expected. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $130,000-$155,000 per year , based on experience and qualifications Profit-sharing opportunity in addition to base salary 401(k) Health program available , with employer contribution based on individual/family coverage status 5 paid personal/PTO days 1 week of paid vacation after one year of employment 2 weeks of paid vacation after two years of employment 8 paid national holidays Ongoing company reviews and periodic review of standard operating procedures and processes Opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth and evolution of an established and specialized custom home builder with a strong pedigree Schedule & Location This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Ocean County, New Jersey office, with regular involvement in projects throughout Monmouth County and northern Ocean County and occasionally other municipalities.
