Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Performs surgery scheduling duties, as well as prior authorization, coding and general office duties.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Women's Health teams at Samaritan Health Services offer a full range of OB/GYN care including well-woman exams, contraception (birth control), obstetric care (including labor and delivery), treatment for infertility, menopause and hormones, continence therapy and treatment, pelvic prolapse therapy and repair, treatment for uterine disorders, treatment for menstrual (period) disorders, treatment for gynecologic cancers and gynecologic/urologic surgery.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology, computer applications and secretarial skills, or equivalent required. Experience and/or training in a hospital or medical office doing similar tasks preferred. Experience and/or training in reception or a customer service setting required. Experience and/or training with delegated health care services and ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
