Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our Scheduling Department in the role of Centralized Scheduler. This position is a 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week). The Centralized Scheduler (Scheduler) utilizes excellent customer services skills while working with patients, physicians, office staff, and clinicians to obtain complete demographic information and procedure information to accurately schedule patients for hospital procedures.....
POSITION SUMMARY
The Centralized Scheduler (Scheduler) utilizes excellent customer services skills while working with patients, physicians, office staff, and clinicians to obtain complete demographic information and procedure information to accurately schedule patients for hospital procedures. The Scheduler effectively communicates scheduling information to internal and external customers, while maintaining a focus on customer service and patient confidentiality. Additional duties include clerical support for ancillary departments utilizing centralized scheduling in order to maintain efficient workflows, effective internal and external customer relations and patient centered care.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required. Good spelling and knowledge of basic medical terminology is required. Six months hospital experience in the areas of scheduling experience in a health care setting preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions. Must be proficient in the use of computer software. Must have previous experience in a customer service oriented position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in order to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, medical office staff, visitors and other PRH employees.
