Operations Specialist Must be willing to relocate or within 60 miles of Pine Bluffs, WY. Farmers State Bank, Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, is a family-owned bank located in a small town of approximately 1,200 people in southeastern Wyoming, directly on Interstate 80 and approximately 40 miles east of Cheyenne. We are a single-branch community bank dedicated to providing personalized service while maintaining strong regulatory compliance, sound operational practices, and exceptional customer service. Farmers State Bank is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Operations Specialist to support the Bank's daily operational functions and contribute to the continued success of our organization. This position will work closely with management and staff across multiple departments to ensure operational processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong banking and operational skills, a desire to continuously improve processes, and the ability to thrive in a small-team community banking environment. Information Technology (IT) experience is highly desired, as this role will assist with technology-related projects, system administration tasks, troubleshooting, and user support in addition to traditional banking operations. Key Responsibilities and Duties Include but Are Not Limited to the
Following:
Bank Operations Perform daily operational processing and account maintenance functions. Research and resolve operational exceptions, discrepancies, and customer service issues. Prepare, balance, and reconcile operational reports and general ledger accounts. Process wire transfers, ACH exceptions, returned items, and other operational activities as assigned. Assist with deposit operations, account documentation, and internal recordkeeping. Monitor operational controls to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain operational documentation and procedures. Assist with vendor management, operational reviews, and special projects. Technology & Systems Support Provide first-level support for bank staff regarding workstations, printers, software applications, and general technology issues. Assist with setup, deployment, and maintenance of computer equipment and related hardware. Support software updates, system upgrades, and implementation projects. Assist with user account administration and access management. Help maintain inventory records for technology assets and equipment. Work with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot technology-related issues. Support cybersecurity initiatives through monitoring, documentation, testing, and employee awareness activities. Participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency efforts. Compliance & Risk Management Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assist with audit, examination, and regulatory requests. Support operational risk management and internal control activities. Assist in documenting procedures and improving operational workflows. Participate in cross-training efforts to strengthen organizational knowledge and reduce key-person dependency. Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the Bank. General Banking Support Provide customer service and operational support as needed. Assist other departments during peak workloads and special projects. Participate in training and professional development opportunities. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications & Skills Banking experience required. Operations, bookkeeping, deposit operations, accounting, or similar financial institution experience preferred. IT experience highly desired, including experience supporting users, workstations, software applications, networking, cybersecurity, or technology projects. Community bank experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Highly motivated individual eager to learn and contribute to the continued success of the Bank. Follows bank policies and procedures and complies with applicable laws and regulations. Possesses the skills necessary to maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, customers, auditors, examiners, directors, and vendors.
