Position Overview Woodway Country Club is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support our Culinary and Food & Beverage operations. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and properly storing food, beverage, supplies, and other deliveries received by the Club. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring products meet the Club's quality standards, and keeping receiving and storage areas clean, organized, and efficient. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and able to communicate effectively with vendors, culinary staff, and management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Receive and process daily deliveries of food, beverages, kitchen supplies, equipment, and other products. Verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and other receiving documentation to ensure quantities and items are accurate. Read and understand invoices. Inspect incoming products for quality, damage, expiration dates, proper temperatures, and overall condition prior to acceptance. Immediately communicate shortages, damaged products, incorrect items, quality concerns, or other delivery discrepancies to the appropriate manager. Ensure refrigerated and frozen products are received at appropriate temperatures and transferred promptly to the proper storage areas. Assist with properly labeling, dating, rotating, and storing products in accordance with food safety and Club standards. Maintain organized walk-in refrigerators, freezers, dry-storage areas, receiving areas, and other designated storage spaces. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures and assist with monitoring product expiration dates and inventory rotation. Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of products received and distributed. Maintain receiving documentation, invoices, packing slips, and other records as required. Coordinate with the Executive Chef, culinary management, Purchasing, Accounting, and other departments regarding deliveries, discrepancies, returns, and inventory needs. Assist with transporting products and supplies to appropriate kitchen, storage, or Club locations. Keep loading, receiving, and storage areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Break down and properly dispose of boxes, packaging materials, and other waste associated with deliveries. Follow all Club food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and receiving procedures. Assist the Culinary team with additional operational duties as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in shipping and receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, food service, hospitality, or a related environment required. Experience receiving food and beverage products is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify quantities, products, and documentation. Basic math and recordkeeping skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, coworkers, and management. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn the Club's inventory, purchasing, and receiving systems. Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and FIFO procedures preferred. Dependable, punctual, and organized. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift while receiving and storing products. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds , with assistance when appropriate. Ability to use carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as required. Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, kitchen, loading dock, and storage environments with varying temperatures. Ability to safely navigate active kitchen, receiving, and back-of-house areas. Work Environment This position primarily works within the Club's Culinary and back-of-house operations and requires regular interaction with delivery personnel, vendors, culinary staff, and other Club departments. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is expected to maintain a professional demeanor, prioritize safety and sanitation, and contribute to an organized and efficient operation while upholding Woodway Country Club's standards of service and quality.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
