This is a first-shift, hands-on role for someone who is willing to do all levels of production work — from sweeping floors, cleaning equipment, organizing materials, lifting, staging, loading, and unloading to more advanced responsibilities such as color matching, stain blending, SOP writing, shipping and receiving, inventory control, quality checks, production documentation, workflow improvement, and future production leadership. The right candidate is not looking for a desk-only position. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, do the work, improve the work, document the work, and grow into broader production responsibility over time. This position may be considered for future production leadership opportunities based on performance, reliability, technical development, judgment, leadership ability, and business needs. What You'll Do Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform and support all levels of production work, including cleaning, sweeping, organizing, material handling, staging, loading, unloading, blending, packaging, and documentation Process and fulfill product orders accurately and on time Mix colors, assist with stain blending, and support production batching according to company standards Use a photo spectrometer to support and verify color matching accuracy Review product quality and ensure finished goods meet Nawkaw standards before shipment Package, label, palletize, wrap, stage, and inspect finished products Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including receiving inbound materials, unloading deliveries, inspecting shipments, checking packing slips, preparing outgoing shipments, staging orders, documenting shipments, and reporting discrepancies Load and unload trucks and move materials safely throughout the facility Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, packaging supplies, finished goods, and production materials Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs, damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, and material issues Complete and review production paperwork, batch logs, inventory records, shipping documents, receiving documents, quality records, and other required documentation Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts or audits Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required Maintain organized production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and storage areas Draft, update, and help implement SOPs, work instructions, checklists, batch records, cleaning procedures, shipping and receiving procedures, inventory procedures, and other production-related documentation Help train employees on work instructions, SOPs, safety procedures, production standards, shipping and receiving processes, and documentation requirements Identify and recommend improvements related to process, workflow, equipment, inventory, shipping, receiving, safety, and quality Assist the Production Manager with daily production priorities, material flow, order deadlines, quality concerns, and facility needs Assist with facility and machine preventive maintenance and report maintenance issues promptly Follow and help reinforce safety requirements, PPE procedures, chemical handling procedures, spill-response procedures, and company standards Communicate production issues, shipment issues, quality concerns, material discrepancies, and improvement opportunities clearly and promptly Lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis Work overtime as needed based on order volume and production needs Perform other duties as assigned in support of production goals and department leadership needs What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good judgment, and a hands-on leadership style. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and willing to perform both basic and advanced tasks. This position is a good fit for someone who has strong production, warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience and wants the opportunity to grow into greater responsibility over time. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory control, quality, logistics, or a related environment preferred Prior shipping and receiving experience required Prior experience with inventory control, cycle counts, order fulfillment, material handling, warehouse organization, and production documentation required Forklift certification preferred; willingness to become certified required Experience with color matching, blending, batching, coatings, pigments, chemicals, or related production processes strongly preferred Experience writing, updating, or following SOPs, work instructions, checklists, batch records, or production documentation preferred Prior lead, trainer, coordinator, senior technician, or supervisory experience preferred Ability to complete and review production, inventory, shipping, receiving, quality, and safety documentation accurately Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills Ability to distinguish between colors and shades for stain matching and blending Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis Ability to work safely in a production and warehouse environment Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed Skills That Will Help You Succeed Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Dependability, accountability, and consistent attendance Hands-on leadership style with willingness to perform both basic and advanced tasks Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards Strong organization and follow-through Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to train, coach, and guide others as needed Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and help implement improvements Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment Sound judgment and ability to escalate issues appropriately Strong time management and ability to balance production, shipping, receiving, inventory, and documentation needs Positive, professional attitude and desire to grow into greater responsibility Schedule Monday-Friday, 1st shift / 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Overtime may be required based on production needs and order volume. Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, including production leadership, manufacturing, forklift operation, color matching or blending, shipping and receiving, inventory control, warehouse organization, SOP writing, quality control, documentation, training, process improvement, and future leadership potential. This is a hands-on role. The employee must be willing and able to perform routine shop duties, including cleaning and organizing, while also taking on more advanced responsibilities related to production, color blending, shipping, receiving, inventory, documentation, SOPs, safety, quality, and future leadership development. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, protective clothing, and closed-toe or safety shoes, must be worn as required by assigned tasks and company policy.
