Job Overview We're looking for an experienced Shipper/Receiver to own our shipping and receiving — palletizing and banding finished goods, loading and unloading trucks, and keeping the paperwork straight in our ERP system.

One thing up front:

this is industrial shipping. Our product is steel parts and fabrications stacked on pallets and moved lifted with a hoist — not small parcels or nicely-packaged boxes. We need someone who is comfortable with this type of work, shows up on time every day, and can be counted on. If you take pride in a clean, organized shipping area and getting trucks loaded right, this is your seat. About Direct Dimension LLC Direct Dimension LLC is a welding and fabrication shop producing engineered parts for the transportation industry. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll be the person who gets our finished parts out the door and our incoming material received right, keeping the shipping area running like clockwork. Responsibilities

• Stack and palletize finished goods using a hoist and overhead crane, then band/strap the loads secure for shipment
• Load outbound trucks and unload inbound trucks, working directly with drivers
• Check off and confirm shipping and receiving documents in our ERP system — keep the paperwork accurate and matched to what actually ships and arrives
• Manage the placement of pallets awaiting shipment — keep the shipping area organized so loads are staged and easy to pull
• Receive incoming material and manage overflow stock, staging it so production can pull what it needs on the floor
• Operate an electric sit-down forklift safely to move heavy palletized goods around the shop and dock
• Communicate with the main office on shipments and inbound/outbound trucks
• Keep your work area and the shipping/receiving zone clean, organized, and safe
• Lend a hand with odd jobs around the shop as needed
• Follow all shop safety practices and wear the required PPE Requirements
• 3-5 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience — ideally in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial setting moving heavy, palletized goods (not a parcel / small-box operation)
• Reliability and punctuality are essential — we need someone we can count on to be here, and on time, every shift
• Forklift experience with a current or prior forklift certification (we'll recertify you if you've held one before)
• Comfortable operating an electric sit-down forklift, plus a hoist and overhead crane, to move heavy loads safely
• Comfortable checking off and managing shipping/receiving documents in a computer-based ERP or tracking system
• Strong attention to detail and a clear communicator who keeps the office in the loop
• Safety-minded and organized, with the initiative to keep the shipping area running smoothly
• Able to work on your feet throughout the shift in an active shop environment Preferred (a Plus, Not Required)
• Experience with Fishbowl or a similar ERP / inventory system
• Overhead crane and hoist experience in a fabrication or steel environment
• Experience loading/unloading trucks and coordinating with freight carriers and drivers
• Background in a manufacturing, fabrication, or welding shop environment
• High school diploma or GED Physical Requirements & Work Environment
• Steel-toe boots and safety glasses (PPE) required on the shop floor — boot allowance and uniforms provided
• This is a physical role handling heavy, palletized goods — most heavy loads move by crane, hoist, or forklift, but you'll be lifting, bending, reaching, and staging throughout the shift
• On your feet and moving for extended periods
• Work is performed in an active welding and fabrication shop and shipping area Schedule
• Full-time, Monday-Friday, on-site at our Lake in the Hills, IL facility
• Day shift, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (the window includes a lunch break)
• 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as production and shipments require Compensation & Benefits
• $20-$22 per hour, based on experience
