Shop Assistant Description:

Seeking part time inventory assistant

• entry level
• for Newton art storage warehouse.

Primary responsibilities include:

receiving, condition checking, cataloging and warehousing incoming commercial artwork shipments; maintaining inventory database with up to date data; pulling artwork inventory from storage as needed. Work with key client contacts to ensure accurate inventory data & communicate efficiently about ongoing projects.

Additional responsibilities include:

warehouse upkeep & maintenance of shipping/receiving areas; break-down & disposal of shipping crates; disposal & recycling of used packing materials; assist senior staff with warehouse inventory tasks; general office upkeep. Good communication & problem resolution, attention to specified tasks as well as general upkeep, and efficient processing of workflow required. Proficient use of email, spreadsheets & cloud storage required. Some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), tool use (drills, knives, pallet jacks) required. Great potential for an attentive & responsible individual to learn further skills in art-handling environment. Could lead to full time employment opportunity & better compensation for an efficient & growth minded individual. OT & paid Sick Time available to all employees. Qualifications:

Entry level. Warehouse/workshop work.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to show up on time & follow direction, both verbal & written.
• Basic use of G-suite (email, calendar, sheets) required
• Packing, receiving experience a plus
• Art background a plus
• Art handling experience a big plus
