Job Description

Shipping Clerk Pay:
$18.00/hour
Schedule:
12:00 PM - 8:30
PM Days:
Monday - Saturday (Sundays and one day off a week) Job Summary We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping operations in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment. This position handles shipping documentation, order entry, pick tickets, Bills of Lading (BOLs), inventory transactions, and communication with warehouse, sales, drivers, and carriers. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable working with computer systems, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Process and maintain accurate shipping and order information in the warehouse or ERP system Enter product receipts, shipments, inventory activity, and order updates into the system Monitor orders throughout the day for new orders, changes, and special requirements Generate and print pick tickets for warehouse personnel Distribute pick tickets and shipping paperwork to the appropriate warehouse teams Verify pick tickets, tallies, quantities, and shipping documents for accuracy Prepare and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs) and supporting shipping documentation Ensure paperwork is matched to the correct shipment and carrier Monitor trucks as they arrive and coordinate required shipping documentation Identify and communicate order discrepancies or variances to supervisors Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 2-3 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse administration, or record-keeping experience preferred Experience in produce, food distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is a plus Experience with ERP, WMS, or warehouse management software Experience with FAMOUS® or similar ERP systems is a plus Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Strong data entry and record-keeping skills Good math, numerical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Working Conditions Work in a refrigerated warehouse environment, generally 45-55°F Warehouse may be noisy due to packaging equipment and forklift traffic Combination of computer/office work and time spent in the warehouse Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, and handling products or packaging Ability to regularly lift approximately 30 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
