Please review the physical requirements before applying: This is a high-volume, physically demanding manual labor position. While a forklift license is required for loading operations, this is not a forklift-only job. A significant portion of every shift requires heavy manual lifting, hand-stacking, warehouse sorting, and physical facility cleanup. Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesHigh-Volume Manual Fulfillment & Pre-Shipping Execute daily order fulfillment by pulling, sorting, and staging inventory accurately based on customer orders. Manually pull, lift, stack, and organize daily shipping orders according to truck pickup schedules. Perform quality checks on completed orders to double-check destinations, identifications, and stamps. Secure shipments by hand-wrapping skids with shrink-wrap or fastening lids on containers. Utilize barcode scanning systems and computer terminals to verify production container labels. Position pulled stock in the correct sequence within the shipping flow area. Coordinate directly with production supervisors if required parts are missing from stock to prevent delays. Review and process revised orders received from Release Accounting. Shipping & Freight Operations Safely load and unload delivery trucks using a sit-down forklift (Hi-Lo) and manual hand trucks. Verify shipping papers and Bills of Lading (BOL) for complete accuracy. Confirm truck drivers provide a signature and record accurate arrival/departure times. Ensure drivers receive the correct copies of all shipping paperwork before departure. Promptly transfer completed paperwork to administrative office personnel. Warehouse Logistics & Facility Maintenance Sort, organize, and store heavy stock manually into warehouse racks. Consolidate finished goods skids physically to maximize warehouse space. Load scrap trucks and maintain an accurate inventory of all loaded scrap material. Perform daily heavy cleanup of truck wells, warehouse aisles, and shipping/receiving zones. Manually dispose of facility trash, broken wood skids, old shrink wrap, and scrap paper.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensing:
Must possess a valid Hi-Lo / Forklift License and be fully proficient in operating a sit-down forklift.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Prior shipping dock experience is preferred; familiarity with shipping protocols for the automotive Big 3 is highly helpful.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer proficiency required to verify records, look up orders, and manage digital shipping documents.
Communication:
Ability to read, write, and speak professionally in English to follow complex verbal and written directions.
Tools:
Experience operating a Hi-Lo, barcode scanner, computer, box cutter, and glue gun.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Heavy Manual Labor:
Must be physically capable of manually lifting and moving multiple cartons by hand daily. Cartons weigh up to 35 lbs each, and the facility routinely prepares between 300 and 700 cartons per day.
Lifting Constraints:
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs independently.
Physical Demands:
Regular standing for long periods, crouching, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.
Work Conditions:
Subject to both indoor warehouse conditions and outdoor weather environments during truck loading.
Hazards:
Frequent exposure to industrial warehouse noise, dust, fumes, odors, poor ventilation, and propane fuel from equipment.
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
