Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring seamless warehouse operations. Your expertise in shipping logistics, inventory management, and warehouse procedures will help maintain optimal stock levels and support our commitment to exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using warehouse management systems and RFID scanners. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately with order picker tools and ERP systems. Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain precise inventory records through data entry into inventory management software and AS400 systems. Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations when applicable. Conduct regular stock counts, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory levels to support accurate order fulfillment. Ensure packaging meets shipping standards for both domestic and international shipments while adhering to trade compliance requirements. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock placement, stocking shelves, and preparing items for order picking. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication with team members. Assist with order fulfillment processes for e-commerce platforms by managing order picking & packing efficiently. Experience Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution processes. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or MRPs is highly preferred. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment; forklift certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics including packaging standards, load & unload procedures, and trade compliance for international shipments. Basic math skills for inventory calculations, measurements, and data accuracy verification. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and order processing tasks. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items safely while maintaining a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Customer service mindset to effectively communicate with team members, carriers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipment status or issues.
