Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Gate Clerk, where you will be the first point of contact at our distribution center's entry point. This vital role ensures smooth and secure operations by managing access, overseeing shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate records. Your proactive approach will help facilitate efficient warehouse distribution, inventory management, and logistics processes while providing excellent customer service to internal teams and external carriers. Responsibilities Manage access control for all personnel, visitors, contractors, and carriers entering and exiting the facility or yard. Verify inbound and outbound shipments using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Assist with shipping logistics, including load & unload operations, order picking & packing, and ensuring proper documentation for trade compliance and international trade regulations. Conduct data entry to update inventory management software, track shipment statuses, and maintain accurate records of all transactions. Support warehouse operations by utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks, reach trucks, forklifts (certified if required), and order pickers to facilitate stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory management. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during shipping & receiving activities while maintaining a clean and organized gate area. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries from carriers or internal teams promptly and professionally. Experience Previous experience working in warehouse operations or distribution centers is highly preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems like AS400 or MRP modules. Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving processes, order picking & packing, and logistics coordination. , pallet jacks, RF scanners, and forklift trucks (certification may be required). Strong basic math skills for verifying shipment quantities and processing documentation accurately. Excellent data entry skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and reporting purposes. Knowledge of international trade regulations and trade compliance standards is a plus but not mandatory.
