Job Description

Lapierre USA is the sales and service division of a premier maple sugaring equipment manufacturer located in Swanton, Vermont. The company sells equipment and supplies across the Northern United States through coordination with a team of dealers and sales representatives, supported by Administration, Shipping, and Service teams. We are seeking a Shipping Clerk to work in our Swanton store. This individual prepares, packages, and documents outgoing products. They will make sure orders are packaged, loaded and secured to safely make it to its final destination with proper documentation. They will track inventory, print labels, and work to follow the delivery schedule, and company policies to maximize efficiency in the warehouse. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator who can multitask, stay organized, work independently when needed, and complete projects efficiently. This position reports to the Shipping Manager of Lapierre USA. Key Responsibilities Pick, Pack, Ship:
Accurately identify items and quantities for shipments, pull them from inventory, and package them in a safe manner for shipping. Accurately record all outgoing goods for inventory tracking.
Loading Trucks:
Understand how to properly handle, load and secure equipment into various types of delivery vehicles, while taking into account weight distribution, multi-stop delivery, and various customer and driver requests.
Shipment Preparation:
Build pallets of merchandise and equipment that are stable and well supported for safe delivery of goods. Accurately record items selected for shipments and fill out all necessary paperwork both internal and shipping documents to achieve on-time delivery.
Warehousing:
Working alongside other employees, help to maintain an organized, clean and efficient warehouse and yard that prioritizes accuracy and safety at all times. Document and assist with inventory warehouse transfers to help record accurately.
Fork Lift and Outdoor Lift Operator:
Master how to safely and efficiently operate all motorized and non-motorized handling equipment to manage product movement within the warehouse, on and off of various types of delivery vehicles, and within our outdoor yard storage. Maintain spacial awareness and understanding the limitations of various equipment to select the right equipment for each job. Document and Assist with
Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly inspect and document the physical and operating conditions of Lapierre USA fleet vehicles used by the Shipping Department, Forklift, Yard Lift, and other material handling equipment. Facilitate and/or actively perform regular maintenance of this equipment as requested by the Shipping Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
Two years of demonstrated experience in shipping or warehousing role.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Software skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with WMS or ERP software is a plus.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Forklift Certification:
Current certification preferred, but not required Valid Drivers License Direct industry experience: Experience making or producing maple syrup is a plus; any industry experience will be highly valued.

Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time as required. Salary and Benefits This is an hourly position with some overtime required as needed throughout the year and annually from January through April. The hourly rate will vary depending on ability and experience, ranging from $20 to $24 per hour. 401(k) with company match. Health insurance available.
