Equipment/Tool Manager and Warehouse Assistant

Job Description

Overview Join our team as an Equipment/Tool Manager and Warehouse Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our equipment inventory and warehouse operations. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of construction equipment and tools, ensuring everything is properly stored, maintained, and ready for use. This position can be physically demanding and does require heavy lifting at times. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly while providing excellent support to our team.
EQUIPMENT/TOOL MANAGER DUTIES EQUIPMENT 1.
Inspect lifts of any visual damage/debris. Damage includes metal studs mounted to the side, missing pins, homemade tool holders drilled into the lift, homemade plus in wiring, door/chain missing, etc. All of these and more will cause a lift not to pass annual inspection which will cost more money to fix. 2. Clean lift. It if needs pressure washing, do so. In the wintertime, this is tough, so try to find a warmer day to do multiple lifts or find a good time to do this. You're not expected to be out there in the freezing, cold weather spraying a lift off. 3. Do a walkaround/inspection on jobsites periodically of things such as seeing if the safety manual is in the correct location, batteries have enough water, electrical or wiring issues, tires in good shape, etc. 4. Check the annual inspection sticker to see if it needs one. 5. Check the hours meter. 6. Put the lift away in storage once it's inspected and cleaned. Do not leave lifts sitting outside in the weather. 7. Keep a spreadsheet of where all our company lifts are always. Update it regularly. We don't ever need to not know where a lift is located. 8. Schedule lifts to be moved in a timely manner (Jack or King's Towing). This means you would be the dispatcher taking all calls about moving lifts and making sure the lifts are moved efficiently and promptly. Delays in moving lifts hold up a job and cost the company money. 9. Communicate with onsite leadman about lifts that need picking up regarding where to place them for easy pickup, making sure they're charged and making sure they are clean and ready for transport. This must happen! 10. Dispose of old lifts that are no longer in use be taking them to the scrap yard or selling them. 11. Use the lift trailer as needed to move smaller lifts or tile stripper. 12. Jack McClendon can move equipment under your direction. TOOLS 1. Accept ALL phone calls regarding tool ordering or repairs. Our field guys count on you to help them in a timely manner. 2. Handle all questions regarding tools promptly. 3. If there is a need for a tool very quickly, just go to Lowes/Home Depot or anywhere like that and get it. No need to wait for a vendor to ship. 4. Keep up with everyone's tool list. Keep a running and updated list of who has what at all times. 5. If someone needs a tool repaired, don't wait on the one to get repaired. Get a brand new one or if we have one in the tool room, give it to them. Get the broken tool back to working order as soon as possible. There is something to be said about trying to save as much money as we can, but if we are holding up production by waiting on a tool, we are losing a lot more money than we are over just getting a new tool. 6. Always keep multiple of these tools in stock: Dewalt 360 Laser, Hilti Pm2P laser, Makita metal saw, Grinders, Dewalt impact, FasTracks, blades for saws, ALL
BRANDS OF BATTERIES AND
CHARGERS, and all things we use on a regular basis. It is better to order these tools bulk up front and have them in stock so we can have a quick turnaround time and get these guys back working. No money saved by waiting until the day they need it to order these types of tools. Keep them there so we can keep working. 7. Keep tools clean and in always working order. When one is returned, check it, clean it, and tag if it's ready to go back out or get repairs done if needed.
WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT DUTIES 1.
Fill in for the warehouse manager as needed when he is not at work. 2. Monitor and keep grounds/buildings in good shape and working conditions. 3. Keep metal stud yard organized and make sure any products going out or coming in get written in/out ASAP. If products are returned, make sure they're placed in the correct bin to stay organized. 4. Make deliveries to jobsites as needed during busy season. 5. Help warehouse manager stage material for the following day. 6. Work with other personnel on keeping vehicles maintained and in working order. 7. Must be a good organizer! Join us in this role where your skills will directly impact our operational success! We value proactive individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute their skills for the success of the company. This position could eventually move into our warehouse manager position provided there's dedication, pride in learning our processes, and eagerness to grow in our industry. This does require attendance five days per week.
