Role:
As the Assistant Warehouse Manager you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure accurate inventory control and lead a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role will play a key part in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting field operations, and uphold high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The Assist Warehouse Manager material sourcing, receiving, cycle counts, equipment staging, warranty returns, and replenishment processes for both the warehouse and company vehicles. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate pricing, maintain vendor-managed inventory, and guide warehouse staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse employees to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and timely completion of assigned tasks. Assign daily work responsibilities and prioritize tasks based on operational needs, installations, deliveries, and material requirements. Coordinate the receiving, inspection, labeling, storage, and distribution of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Generator, and other materials and equipment. Ensure materials and equipment are properly staged and available for scheduled installations and field personnel. Monitor and coordinate the truck replenishment process to ensure company vehicles are properly stocked with the required materials and equipment. Coordinate the material return process, ensuring returned materials are inspected, documented, and properly restocked or designated for disposition. Assist with the purchase order process by verifying materials received against purchase orders and reporting discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Conduct and supervise full physical counts and cycle counts of warehouse and vehicle inventory to maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages, overages, damaged materials, and other inventory concerns to management. Coordinate and monitor warranty returns process, ensuring materials are properly documented, organized, and returned to vendors in a timely manner. Assist with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) by monitoring stock levels, receiving materials, and communicating replenishment needs. Promote a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment and ensure employees follow established safety procedures. Maintain accurate inventory transactions and documentation within the company's inventory management system. Communicate effectively with purchasing, operations, installation teams, vendors, drivers, and management regarding material and warehouse needs. Assist management with identifying opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, organization, and inventory accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Strong knowledge of cycle count and chain of custody best practices Effectively supervise and prioritizes resources and projects. Ability to understand and drive key performance indicators in the warehouse. Strong attention to detail. Previous QC experience within a warehouse environment. Ability to operate a forklift. Experience in supply chain & inventory management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products. Experience with inventory management software. Physical Demands Must be physically able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects of up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time. Work environment Warehouse environment Work Schedule Generally, Tuesday through Saturday. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.
