Job Description

Reliable Equipment & Service Co. is a modern and clean tooling, repair, and distribution center servicing the Power and Utility Industry. As our team grows, we are seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead our warehouse logistics, ensure strict inventory accuracy, and foster a safe, efficient working environment. Position Summary The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily logistics of all incoming and outgoing tool shipments, raw materials, and utility parts. This role involves directing warehouse staff, maintaining flawless inventory documentation, ensuring OSHA and safety compliance, and coordinating directly with logistics carriers and internal departments to support our service to the power industry.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Supervise, schedule, and train warehouse associates, shippers, and receivers. Lead multi-role cross-training initiatives to ensure full operational coverage.
Inbound Logistics:
Manage the receipt of all incoming products, tooling, and materials. Verify physical counts against bills of lading (BOL), purchase orders, and packing slips.
Outbound Logistics:
Oversee the picking, quality inspection, secure packaging (including palletizing and shrink-wrapping), and labeling of domestic and international shipments.
Carrier & Systems Management:
Coordinate nightly pick-ups and large freight schedules. Process documentation through logistics software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx, freight forwarders) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Inventory Control:
Ensure strict inventory management practices. Handle product labeling, execute routine cycle counts, resolve order discrepancies, and manage annual/bi-annual physical inventory counts.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce all company safety rules, proper lifting techniques, and forklift operation guidelines. Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse floor.
Discrepancy Resolution:
Document and file claims for any items received short or in damaged condition, communicating issues back to the Purchasing and Sales teams.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, material inventory control, or shipping and receiving, preferably within an industrial equipment, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
Leadership:
Proven experience supervising a team, managing schedules, and driving workflow efficiency.
Technical Skills:
Competent in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and shipping/inventory management software. Familiarity with RF barcode scanners.
Equipment Operation:
Certified (or able to be certified) in operating material handling equipment, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday and regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Attributes:
Detail-oriented, exceptionally reliable, strong time-management skills, and a committed focus on workplace safety.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or post-secondary training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus. Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation based on experience.
