Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment between the hours of 7:00am-7:00pm, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic oversight with daily execution of warehouse activities. The Warehouse Manager is expected to actively participate in shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse operations alongside warehouse staff. The Warehouse Manager drives operational excellence through strong leadership, process discipline, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Direct and manage all day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, staging, shipping, and distribution. Ensure efficient flow of materials to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Develop and maintain warehouse processes that maximize space utilization, productivity, accuracy, and service levels. Monitor warehouse performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational effectiveness. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records through effective inventory control practices. Oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate transactions within ERP/inventory management systems. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, and Finance teams to maintain inventory integrity and visibility. Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics Manage all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with customer, carrier, and company requirements. Coordinate freight scheduling and transportation activities with carriers, vendors, and logistics partners. Ensure proper documentation, labeling, packaging, and shipment preparation. Monitor freight costs, transportation performance, and delivery metrics to support operational efficiency. Leadership and Team Management Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associate(s) to achieve departmental objectives. Establish clear performance expectations and hold team member(s) accountable for safety, productivity, quality, and attendance standards. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Forklift Operations and Material Handling Serve as a subject matter expert in forklift and material handling operations. Enforce safe equipment operation practices and conduct regular observations and audits. Oversee maintenance, inspections, and operational readiness of material handling equipment. Safety and Compliance Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and workplace discipline throughout warehouse operations. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, and company requirements. Systems, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement Utilize ERP, warehouse management, inventory control, scanning, shipping, and reporting systems to manage operations effectively. Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and process improvements. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, productivity, safety, shipping performance, and service levels. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, cost reduction, and operational visibility. Generate and communicate reports to leadership regarding warehouse performance and operational metrics. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Quality teams to support business objectives. Ensure alignment between warehouse operations and production requirements. Communicate effectively across departments to resolve issues and improve workflow efficiency. Participate in planning meetings and support strategic operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience managing shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse operations. Proven experience leading and developing warehouse personnel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and manufacturing material flow. Advanced forklift operation knowledge and understanding of operator safety requirements and training standards. Working knowledge of logistics, transportation management, freight coordination, and carrier relations. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety best practices. Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, scanning technologies, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and process improvement. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively lead teams, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, bend, and move throughout warehouse and production environments for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment as needed. Ability to work in varying warehouse and manufacturing conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds at times Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities and company equipment.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
