Final shift assignments will be based on operational and staffing needs. Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our growing warehouse operations team. In this vital role, you will support the overall management of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient distribution, inventory control, safety, productivity, and process improvement. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to provide day-to-day leadership to warehouse employees, maintain an organized and productive work environment, and ensure operations meet the Company's standards for quality, accuracy, and safety. This position is ideal for an experienced warehouse professional who is ready to continue developing their leadership and management skills while contributing to a fast-paced and growing distribution operation. Duties Assist in overseeing daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and material handling operations. Support and lead warehouse employees by providing guidance on warehouse procedures, productivity expectations, safety protocols, and operational best practices. Assist with assigning daily responsibilities and monitoring workflow to ensure operational goals are achieved. Coordinate with team members to optimize workflow and identify opportunities for process improvement. Operate and supervise the safe use of forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software. Conduct and assist with regular cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits. Investigate and assist with resolving inventory discrepancies. Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and warehouse safety procedures. Assist with employee scheduling, attendance monitoring, performance feedback, training, and team development. Assist in managing shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate incoming and outgoing shipments. Help maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and proper product storage. Communicate operational issues, staffing concerns, safety matters, and inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager. Support effective communication and operational continuity between the first and second shifts. Assume additional operational responsibilities when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable. Perform additional warehouse-related duties and projects as assigned. Experience & Qualifications Proven experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar operation with a strong understanding of logistics processes. Prior supervisory, lead, or warehouse management experience is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with WMS, inventory management systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office. Experience safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Forklift certification is preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements related to material handling, powered industrial equipment, heavy lifting, and warehouse operations. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate employees and maintain accountability. Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with lean management, continuous improvement, or other process improvement methodologies is advantageous. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Must be dependable, punctual, and available to consistently work the assigned first or second shift. Must be available for scheduled Saturday coverage when required.
