Mixing Center Manager -

Cold Storage Food Distribution Location:

Ruther Glen, VA (Not Climate Controlled) Position Overview We are seeking a Mixing Center Manager to oversee operations within a high-volume cold storage food distribution center. This role is responsible for leading daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and distribution, while ensuring compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. The environment is fast-paced and not climate-controlled, requiring a leader who can drive performance, maintain accuracy, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership:

Direct daily operations of the Mixing Center, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, efficient workflow, and compliance with company standards.

Team Management:

Supervise and mentor warehouse associates, leads, and shift supervisors; provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations.

Scheduling & Labor Planning:

Manage workforce planning, shift coverage, and overtime approvals to meet volume and service demands.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce OSHA, HACCP, SQF, and company safety policies; lead safety meetings and conduct routine inspections.

Inventory Control:

Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies; coordinate with Inventory Control teams to minimize shrink and errors.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards.

Collaboration:

Partner with cross-functional departments (Transportation, Inventory, Quality Control, HR) to support seamless warehouse and distribution operations.

Reporting:

Track and report KPIs, including productivity, accuracy, headcount, and labor costs; present operational updates to senior leadership. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in warehouse/distribution management, preferably in food distribution or cold storage . Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 25+ employees. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, HACCP, and food handling best practices. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic reporting tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment with varying temperatures. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. #CARO-1
