Job Description

Position:
Shipping & Receiving Manager We're looking for someone who shares our values to lead our Logistics department. This position oversees the daily flow of products in and out of our warehouse, tracks inventory, and ensures both domestic and international shipments arrive safely and on time for our clients. This is a fast paced, high pressure role that makes a tremendous impact across the organization. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the drive to improve processes, and enjoys a physical element to their role. This position requires you to be on your feet for the majority of the day and to frequently lift 25-35lb boxes. We like to bring on humans that have an interest in music, art, sustainability and are actively working towards improving the well-being of people and the planet. Full Time Hourly (40hr/week) The anticipated hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. There may be very limited evening/night or weekend hours if urgent shipping matters arise. This position is a non-exmempt position and is eligible for 1.5x overtime pay.
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $21-$24/hour based on the candidate's experience/qualifications.

Primary Roles:
Please note, these roles are inclusive of working closely with many members of the team. Additional roles and responsibilities, as assigned. Shipping and Receiving Responsible for handling and orchestrating all domestic and international incoming and outgoing shipments Works closely with our various shipping representatives to ensure all paperwork for both international and domestic shipments is properly completed and included for all shipments. Maintains accurate shipping split/stockout documentation, tracking, shipping costs, return labels, and invoicing information for Account Managers and clients Communicates and collaborates closely with multiple departments for all shipping and receiving needs. Works to ensure processes are being followed and improved as needed. Advise Account Managers on optimal shipping methods, timelines, service options, and freight needs acting in the best interest of our bands, artists, clients, and partners Contact for urgent shipping needs. There may be instances where urgent matters must be tended to on evenings, nights, and/or weekends if any shipping or delivery issues arise. This is historically very infrequent. Collaborates with Account Managers in the tour planning and logistics process to ensure on time shipments and returns Audits shipping accounts and shipments to ensure all shipments are getting billed appropriately and evaluates shipping costs and markups to hit department revenue and profitability goals Develops shipping resources for various departments and clients as well as process guides to help consistency and efficiency across departments
Inventory Management:
Coordinates incoming tour merchandise, outsourced goods, and webstore/preorder inventory with Purchasing, Production, Fulfillment, Customer Service, E-Commerce, and Account Management Ensures that all incoming and outgoing inventory is accurately tracked and organized, promptly communicates late, incorrect, or damaged items Receives incoming shipments within the specified time standards and prioritizes incoming shipments accordingly Accurately tracks and accounts for inventory as it moves within the Production, Webstore, and Logistics departments and helps refine processes to increase efficiencies Assess damaged tour shipments, coordinate storage and receiving needs, and ensure incoming inventory is accurately recorded
Team Management:
Manages a team of 1-3 people, including a Shipping & Receiving Lead. Effectively prioritizes tasks and delegates work accordingly. Actively contributes to the weekly Manager meetings by outlining the weekly department outlook, communicating department needs, and communicating in a collaborative/supportive manner Has a comprehensive knowledge of all positions, services, systems, and evolution of the department, and can provide answers and/or direct staff to the appropriate person to support. Responsible for continually improving positions, systems, and workflows so day-to-day operations are set up for success, and so your team can grow in an efficient, sustainable and conscious manner. Helps train, coach, and mentor direct reports and handles performance reviews as well as any timely corrective and disciplinary measures if necessary Support with the hiring process for positions within their department and other manger related Human Resources responsibilities as needed Responsible for ensuring the work environment is in compliance with Ambient Inks safety standards as well as state and federal safety requirements Preferred Qualifications (not required, but nice to have) Shipping and receiving experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment Experience with inventory management and ecommerce software such as Shopify Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments Demonstrated problem-solving ability, a positive growth mindset, and the ability to identify and implement process improvements Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure Ability to identify and implement improvements in processes to increase efficiency Proven leadership skills, high emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate and inspire other team members
Location:
Please note this is an in-person position. We require this individual work on-site at our facility (2510 Alpine Road Eau Claire, WI 54703). Reliable transportation is required for this position. We would like this position to be filled by someone living in Eau Claire, WI (or the surrounding area).
