Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Parts Manager (Chevrolet) to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories, ensuring seamless operations that support our dealership's service and sales teams. Your expertise in supply chain management, supplier relations, and automotive diagnostics will drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, optimize parts sourcing strategies, and contribute to the overall success of our dealership. Duties Manage the entire parts inventory process, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution using inventory management systems such as ERP or AS400. Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM suppliers and other vendors to ensure timely sourcing of quality parts at competitive prices. Oversee procurement management activities, including demand planning, pricing negotiations, and parts sourcing to meet dealership needs efficiently. Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving operations, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of all parts movement. Supervise warehouse management tasks such as inventory control, shipping & receiving, and equipment repair to maintain optimal stock levels. Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist service technicians in identifying parts requirements quickly and accurately. Implement best practices for parts administration, including data entry accuracy, order management system updates, and internal communication protocols. Lead efforts in automotive repair processes by ensuring the availability of necessary parts for timely vehicle servicing and repairs. Monitor supply chain performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Ensure compliance with safety standards related to warehouse operations and equipment such as forklifts. Skills Chevrolet knowledge preferred Reynolds & Reynolds experience preferred Extensive experience in supply chain management, procurement management, and logistics inventory management within an automotive dealership or manufacturing environment. Strong supplier management experience with a proven track record of negotiation to secure favorable terms. Proficiency with inventory management systems such as ERP platforms (e.g., AS400), CMMS software, and order management systems. Knowledge of automotive parts and accessories including OEM specifications, vehicle systems, auto body repair components, and automotive diagnostics tools. Familiarity with warehouse management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and forklift operation certification. Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes and equipment repair is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for internal coordination among service departments, sales teams, suppliers, and customers. Competence in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, data entry, demand planning analysis, and inventory control documentation. Understanding of sourcing strategies for automotive parts along with demand planning techniques to optimize stock levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment while maintaining high customer service standards.
