Parts Manager
Parts ManagerTransdev in Bel Air, MD is seeking an experienced Parts Manager to bolster our team. This position will be responsible for the organization and profitability of the fleet's parts department. This individual will interface with using agencies, vendors, and internal/external customers. Specific attention will be given to operational support, client relations, accountability, and cost/quality of parts. This position requires flexibility in working hours and job assignments. As a Parts Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.

Major Responsibilities:
- Leads cost reduction initiatives, manages and reduces obsolete inventory, and provides justification for parts stocked. Conducts cost and quality comparison studies.
- Designs implements and monitors ongoing cost-quality purchasing programs.
- Provides recommendations as needed to build and maintain an exemplary quality parts facility.
- Ensure that the parts inventory is stocked at levels w all appropriate shop services can be performed.
- Design, implement and monitor ongoing cost quality purchasing program
- Maintain an effective parts catalog system
- Manage warranty claims on parts
- Manage a core exchange program
- Prepare and conduct physical inventories quarterly
- Provide timely and accurate support services to operational staff
- Supervise the daily functions of the parts staff, if applicable, ensuring the most effective allocation of resources. Provide training, technical support and assistance to staff as needed.
- Ensure security of parts facility and inventory
- Provide recommendations as needed to build and maintain an exemplaryquality parts facility
- Other responsibilities as requested or required
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Musthave a valid driver's license.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in automotive and / or construction equipment parts
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be computer literate with experience in operating fleet managementinformation systems and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel,Word and Access.
- Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing.
DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
- The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity.
- Required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear,to reachwith hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell. Must be able tolay onback on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up tofiftypounds and occasionally lift and/or move more thanone hundredpounds.
- Specific vision abilitiesrequiredinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
