Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead Position Summary Killeen Plumbing is a growing company committed to taking care of its employees, providing excellent service to its customers, reducing waste, and continually improving the way we operate. We are seeking an Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead to take ownership of Killeen's inventory operation while providing hands-on leadership within the warehouse. This is not an office-only inventory position. The successful candidate will work directly with inventory and warehouse operations while also managing inventory information, reports, purchasing coordination, employees, and process improvements. The person in this position will be responsible for making sure Killeen has: The right material, in the right place, at the right time, at the right cost. Killeen is currently growing and going through significant operational and technological change. Our future includes an integrated business system designed to connect inventory, purchasing, field operations and financial information while providing management with timely and accurate information for decision-making. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable working with materials, working with people, working with numbers, and working with technology. Essential Responsibilities Warehouse & Inventory Operations The Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead will actively participate in the physical operation of the warehouse, including: Organizing and maintaining warehouse shelves, locations and inventory. Receiving incoming materials and verifying quantities and items. Putting received materials away in the correct locations. Pulling and preparing materials for plumbers, technicians, crews and other employees. Preparing materials for deliveries and field operations. Loading and unloading materials as needed. Replenishing truck inventory. Receiving materials returned from trucks or jobs. Coordinating and documenting truck-to-truck inventory transfers. Organizing returned and unused materials. Assisting with physical inventory counts. Investigating inventory discrepancies. Maintaining an organized, clean and efficient warehouse. Working alongside warehouse employees and helping coordinate daily warehouse activities. The position will have support from other warehouse employees, but the Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead must be capable of performing these functions personally when necessary. Inventory Control & Reporting The Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory information and providing management with reliable reporting.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining accurate inventory quantities and costs. Monitoring overall inventory valuation. Maintaining inventory by truck and other company inventory locations. Monitoring material usage. Identifying low-stock and reorder requirements. Tracking purchases. Monitoring open purchase orders. Coordinating returns and vendor credits. Monitoring vendor purchasing activity. Monitoring inventory price changes. Tracking inventory discrepancies and adjustments. Tracking truck-to-truck transfers. Reviewing inventory information for unusual activity, errors or trends. Producing consistent inventory reports for management. Communicating important findings and recommending actions to management. The expectation is not simply to generate reports. The successful candidate should be able to look at the information and ask: "Does this make sense?" They should be comfortable identifying something unusual, investigating it and bringing the issue — preferably along with a potential solution — to management. Purchasing & Vendor Coordination Monitor inventory needs and reorder requirements. Coordinate purchase orders and open purchase orders. Verify incoming materials against orders. Identify quantity, pricing or product discrepancies. Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, shortages, backorders, returns and credits. Help maintain accurate vendor and product information. Monitor purchasing patterns and identify opportunities to reduce waste or improve purchasing efficiency. Coordinate with office and field personnel regarding material availability. Help ensure emergency and special-order purchases are properly documented. Plumbing Knowledge & Industry Experience — Preferred Because this position works directly with plumbing inventory and field operations, knowledge of plumbing materials and previous plumbing industry experience are required. Familiarity with common plumbing materials such as the following is necessary: Pipe and tubing Fittings Valves Drain and waste materials Water supply materials Pumps Water heaters Plumbing fixtures Repair materials Rough-in materials Specialty plumbing components Common plumbing tools and equipment Technology & Systems The successful candidate must be comfortable using technology as part of the warehouse operation.

Responsibilities and expectations include:

Experience working with inventory software. Experience with QuickBooks inventory, preferably QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop, is strongly preferred. Ability to work comfortably with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets. Ability to learn new software and inventory systems. Ability to work with inventory data and reports. The candidate must have willingness to play a strong role in the implementation of Killeen's future integrated business system. Ability to follow established processes and help others consistently follow new systems. Ability to identify opportunities where technology can improve accuracy, efficiency and reporting. Killeen is looking for someone who is comfortable with change and willing to continuously learn and teach others as the company grows. Leadership & Teamwork This is a leadership position. The Inventory & Warehouse Operations Lead will help coordinate warehouse employees and work closely with: Plumbers and technicians, foremen, dispatch, office staff, management, vendors and delivery personnel.

Providing directions to warehouse employees. Helping organize daily warehouse priorities. Training employees in inventory procedures. Maintaining accountability for established inventory processes. Communicating expectations clearly and respectfully. Helping employees adapt to new procedures and systems. Addressing inventory and process issues promptly. Communicating significant issues to management. Promoting teamwork between the warehouse, field and office. The successful candidate should lead by example and understand that the warehouse exists to support the field, employees and customers. Demonstrated reliability and personal accountability. Ability to adapt and implement changing procedures and systems. Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team. Strongly Preferred Previous plumbing industry experience or working knowledge of plumbing materials. Previous warehouse or inventory leadership experience. QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop inventory experience. Experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets. Experience managing inventory across multiple locations or vehicles. Experience producing inventory, purchasing or operational reports. Previous experience implementing or improving inventory processes. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where they demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Physical Requirements This is an active warehouse position requiring regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying and moving inventory and materials.
