This role ensures raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished products flow efficiently through the supply chain and are delivered and/or shipped accurately, on time, and cost-effectively. The position works closely with purchasing, production, shipping, sales, suppliers, and carriers to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
In-bound and Out-bound Logistics Oversee scheduling and management of shipments with carriers, freight brokers, and suppliers. Negotiate transportation rates with carriers and monitor freight costs. Ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, components, and finished products. Supervise shipping and receiving personnel while providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations Ensure proper handling, storage, identification, and movement of materials and products to prevent damage, loss, or inventory discrepancies. Manage and supervise receiving personnel, processes and warehouse organization. Direct quality control measures and processes for raw materials. Supply Chain Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits, ensure processes and automation are implemented to meet company strategy Drive strategic planning and objectives for both logistics and supply chain. Help define and implement overall company inventory policy and standards. Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans for material shortages, transportation disruptions, supplier delays, and other potential interruptions. Supervise procurement personnel while providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations Assist with demand planning, inventory forecasting, material planning, and replenishment strategies to balance customer service, production requirements, and carrying costs. Monitor all supply chain KPI's to ensure department and company success. On-time delivery Freight costs Inventory accuracy Order accuracy Shipping productivity Material availability Supplier performance Inventory turns Transportation performance Lead corrective actions related to logistics, inventory, material flow, supplier performance, and supply chain issues. Reports to COO (or corresponding role, ie. VP of Operations)
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in business focused on Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field, certification in Supply Chain Logistics given preference. 3+ years of hands-on logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or materials management experience. Strong leadership and team management skills, 3+ years of managing people. Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory management software, and purchasing, production, shipping, or supply chain transactions. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of national and international transportation regulations and freight management. Understanding of demand planning, inventory forecasting, material requirements, and supplier management. Ability to analyze inventory, transportation, and supply chain data and make recommendations based on findings. Ability to create and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, customers, and internal departments. Experience in roto-molding or plastics manufacturing preferred. Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Compensation $125,000 annually DOE, inclusion in the company's discretionary bonus program
