Assistant to Parts Manager

Job Description

We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented person to support our Parts Manager with inventory management, parts processing, and day-to-day parts department operations. If you're comfortable using a computer and can learn quickly, we'll train you on our shop software.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Parts Manager with daily inventory management and stock control. Receive incoming parts shipments, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and inspect for damage. Enter new parts into the system with correct pricing, descriptions, and part numbers. Add parts to customer invoices and service orders accurately. Pull parts for mechanics based on repair orders and deliver them to the shop floor. Maintain organized shelves, bins, and storage areas for quick and easy parts retrieval. Perform regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory. Track backorders and communicate expected arrival dates to the service team. Process returns of defective or incorrect parts to vendors and handle associated paperwork. Source parts from multiple suppliers when needed and compare pricing. Communicate with vendors, mechanics, and management to keep parts flow smooth. Keep parts records, invoices, and receipts organized and accurate. Perform light office/admin duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Comfortable using a computer (data entry, typing, navigating software). Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized. Good communication skills with vendors, customers, and coworkers. Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-stress work environment. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move parts around the shop. Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn. Previous experience in parts, inventory, warehouse, or auto/truck shop work is a plus but not required — we'll train the right candidate.
Schedule:
Full-time, on-site. Day shift with some flexibility based on shop needs.
