Run the Fleet. Push the Trucks. Own the Day. Total Environmental is a growing recycling company hauling [scrap metal / OCC / plastics / baled commodities] across NWA. We run 10 trucks and 10 drivers, and we are looking for one sharp, organized person to take the wheel on dispatch, driver management, fleet maintenance and DOT compliance. This is not a seat where you hide behind a screen. You will be the hub the whole operation runs through. If you like a phone that rings, problems you get to solve before lunch, and the satisfaction of watching a board full of loads turn into a clean week, you will do well here. What You Will Do-Daily Dispatch Build and assign the daily load board and keep every truck moving with minimal deadhead Coordinate pickups, deliveries and mill or processor appointments Track trucks in real time and adjust on the fly when a load, a customer or a driver changes the plan Handle breakdowns, delays and reroutes without letting the customer feel it Confirm scale tickets, BOLs, weights and paperwork come back complete and on time Driver Management Be the first point of contact for 10 drivers: assignments, questions, issues, time off Monitor hours of service and ELD logs and keep drivers legal and running Coach on performance, safety, on time delivery and paperwork accuracy Help with driver hiring, onboarding, orientation and retention Maintenance and Fleet Track and schedule preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and annual inspections on all trucks and trailers Maintain service records, repair history and cost per unit Coordinate with shops and vendors on repairs, tires, parts and downtime Flag recurring issues before they turn into a truck sitting on the shoulder Permits and Compliance-Work with HR Dept on the following- Maintain and renew IRP and apportioned plates, IFTA filings, UCR, Arkansas and multistate permits, overweight and oversize permits as needed Keep driver qualification files, MVRs, medical cards and CDL expirations current Administer the drug and alcohol testing program with our consortium Watch CSA scores and address violations quickly Keep insurance certificates, registrations and cab cards current and in the trucks Customer Management Serve as the daily point of contact for accounts: scheduling, ETAs, service issues and follow up Communicate proactively when something changes so customers are never guessing Work with billing to make sure loads are documented and invoiced correctly Spot opportunities for additional volume and pass them to ownership What We Are Looking For-Required 2 or more years in trucking dispatch, driver management, fleet or transportation operations Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, hours of service and ELDs Strong communicator who can talk to a driver, a customer and a mechanic in the same ten minutes Highly organized with real follow through: nothing falls through the cracks Comfortable with dispatch or TMS software, fleet telematics platforms, spreadsheets and email Calm under pressure and thick skinned enough to hold drivers accountable while keeping the relationship Preferred Experience with Samsara is a plus but not required. We use it for GPS tracking, IFTA and hours of service, dash cameras, vehicle diagnostics and maintenance alerts. If you have worked in a comparable telematics platform, or you are simply quick to pick up new software, we will get you up to speed Experience in recycling, scrap, waste or bulk commodity hauling Familiarity with roll off, walking floor, end dump, flatbed or van trailer operations Experience maintaining IRP, IFTA and permit renewals Bilingual English and Spanish CDL or prior driving experience (helpful, not required) Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00ish, with some flexibility. Occasional after hours and weekend availability by phone when a load or a truck needs attention.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
