Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver, where your skills will drive safety, service excellence, and community impact. In this vital role, you will operate various vehicles—including buses, vans, and transit vehicles—ensuring safe, reliable transportation for passengers of all ages and needs. Your expertise in traffic laws, defensive driving, and passenger safety will help create a positive experience for every rider. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference while honing your driving skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles such as buses, vans, and paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including wheelchair assistance and behavior management when necessary Ensure passenger safety by adhering to all vehicle codes, emergency response procedures, and child or senior care protocols Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and passengers using effective English language skills; multilingual abilities are a plus Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions to ensure timely arrivals and departures Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine vehicle checks to guarantee operational safety and compliance with state and local laws Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions, managing student discipline when applicable, and ensuring a positive travel experience Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus or transit operation Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit vehicle operation Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency stop procedures, and emergency response protocols for transportation Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform vehicle maintenance checks as needed Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are advantageous Experience working with children or seniors is preferred; familiarity with student discipline policies is a plus CPR certification and first aid training are highly desirable for passenger safety preparedness Knowledge of school policy guidelines, child care practices, behavior management techniques, and transportation safety standards Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise directly impacts community mobility.
