Strongsville, OH;

The Opportunity We are looking for a dedicated Fleet Manager to take the helm of our private fleet. Your sole focus will be on the heartbeat of our transportation network: our drivers and our equipment. You will oversee daily dispatch and scheduling, champion strict DOT compliance, manage comprehensive maintenance schedules, and cultivate a safety-first culture across our locations. If you are a hands-on leader who balances deep regulatory knowledge with operational excellence, we want you in the driver's seat. What You'll Do (Day-to-Day)
Driver Leadership & Dispatch:
Mastermind the daily scheduling and routing for our private fleet, ensuring efficient vehicle movement while strictly adhering to Hours of Service (HOS).
Compliance Champion:
Serve as the internal authority on all DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations. You will oversee continuous operational compliance, driver qualification files, and log audits.
Tax & Mileage Reporting:
Accurately execute Schedule A reporting and other necessary state and federal transport filings.
Fleet Health & Maintenance:
Own the full lifecycle of our vehicles. You will track, schedule, and coordinate all preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to keep our equipment road-ready and safe.
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party repair shops and maintenance vendors to minimize downtime and control repair costs.
Safety First:
Conduct routine safety meetings, investigate incidents, and proactively implement preventative actions to ensure our drivers make it home safely every single day. What You'll Bring (Core Qualifications)
Experience:
3+ years of supervisory or management experience in transportation, fleet operations, or logistics (managing a private fleet is a major plus).
Licensure:
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) is preferred.
Regulatory Expertise:
Deep, practical, working knowledge of DOT rules, FMCSA guidelines, HOS, and IFTA reporting.
Technical Savvy:
Hands-on experience managing Schedule A reporting, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), and fleet management software.
Mechanical Aptitude:
A strong understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics to effectively assess equipment conditions and audit third-party repair work.
Leadership Presence:
Excellent communication and coaching skills with a proven ability to recruit, train, evaluate, and retain high-performing drivers. Work Environment & Physical Demands Ability to work in a dynamic transportation, logistics, and yard environment. Frequent interaction with drivers, equipment inspection, and yard walks. Standard office work requiring computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Excel, TMS systems). Why Join Our Team? Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
