Fleet Manager Elevate Insulation - 1.0 Orem, UT Job Details Full-time $55,000 - $65,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Automobile maintenance requirements Operations management Interpersonal skills Driver's License Vendor relationship management Maintenance management Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Position Summary Elevate Insulation is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and mechanically knowledgeable Fleet Manager to take ownership of our growing company fleet of approximately 40 vehicles, with expected growth to 50-55 vehicles. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for keeping our vehicles safe, reliable, compliant, and available for daily operations . This position will oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, vendors, vehicle records, registrations, insurance, fuel, GPS/telematics, vehicle assignments, driver safety, purchasing, and fleet replacement planning. This is a hands-on management position for someone who understands vehicles, can build systems, control costs, solve problems quickly, and proactively identify maintenance and operational issues before they become disruptions. Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Operations & Maintenance Manage the day-to-day operation of Elevate's vehicle fleet. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles. Monitor vehicle condition, mileage, service intervals, inspections, and repair needs. Coordinate repairs and maintenance with internal personnel and outside vendors. Obtain quotes, evaluate repair recommendations, and negotiate pricing when appropriate. Track downtime and work to minimize vehicle-related disruptions to operations. Maintain accurate records for maintenance, repairs, warranties, and vehicle history. Develop processes to ensure vehicles are clean, safe, properly equipped, and ready for use. Fleet Records & Compliance Maintain accurate vehicle records, including titles, registrations, inspections, insurance, warranties, and maintenance history. Ensure vehicles remain properly registered and compliant in the states where Elevate operates. Monitor driver and vehicle compliance requirements applicable to the company's operations. Maintain organized documentation for audits, claims, inspections, and regulatory requirements. Monitor employee driving records and MVR requirements as applicable to company policy. Develop and maintain fleet safety procedures. Driver & Vehicle Safety Promote safe operation and proper care of company vehicles. Monitor vehicle incidents, accidents, damage, and preventable losses. Coordinate accident reporting, insurance claims, repairs, and follow-up. Monitor GPS/telematics and address concerning driving behavior when appropriate. Work with management to establish and enforce vehicle-use policies. Identify recurring safety or vehicle issues and recommend corrective action. Fleet Purchasing & Growth Assist with vehicle selection and purchasing based on operational needs, reliability, total cost of ownership, and expected usage. Develop vehicle replacement schedules and recommendations. Evaluate when vehicles should be repaired, replaced, sold, or reassigned. Maintain relationships with dealerships, repair facilities, parts suppliers, rental companies, and other fleet vendors. Track fleet expenses and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs. Help develop and manage the fleet budget. Fuel & Telematics Monitor fuel usage and identify unusual or excessive consumption. Manage fuel cards and related controls. Oversee GPS/telematics systems and ensure accurate vehicle and driver information. Use fleet data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and accountability. Team & Vendor Management Manage and hold fleet personnel or assigned team members accountable for completing responsibilities accurately and on time. Establish clear expectations, procedures, and performance standards. Coordinate with Operations, HR, Accounting, and other departments regarding fleet-related needs. Build strong relationships with outside vendors and hold them accountable for quality, pricing, and turnaround times. Provide leadership with regular updates regarding fleet condition, costs, risks, and upcoming needs. Performance & Reporting The Fleet Manager will be expected to develop and maintain reporting around key fleet metrics, including: Vehicle availability and downtime Preventive maintenance completion Repair and maintenance costs Fuel costs and usage Accidents and vehicle damage Driver safety/telematics trends Vehicle replacement needs Fleet operating costs Vendor performance Upcoming registrations, inspections, and maintenance Overall fleet condition Qualifications 3+ years of experience in fleet management, fleet operations, automotive management, transportation, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience managing multiple vehicles and coordinating maintenance and repairs. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent vehicle issues. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair processes. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Comfortable working with spreadsheets, fleet-management software, GPS/telematics, and other technology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to travel between company locations and vehicle sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Professional automotive/mechanic experience is strongly preferred. Mechanic license, certification, or equivalent automotive credentials preferred. Experience managing a fleet of 40+ vehicles. Experience managing a growing or multi-location fleet. Experience with fleet-management or GPS/telematics software. Experience with vehicle purchasing and replacement planning. Experience managing insurance claims and accident processes. Experience managing fleet budgets and analyzing operating costs. Experience supervising employees or fleet personnel. Knowledge of DOT, commercial vehicle, or other applicable transportation requirements. What Success Looks Like A successful Fleet Manager will ensure that Elevate's vehicles are safe, reliable, available, properly maintained, and cost-effective . Rather than simply reacting when a vehicle breaks down, this person will build systems that allow Elevate to anticipate maintenance needs, control costs, improve vehicle availability, reduce preventable issues, and plan ahead as the fleet continues to grow.
Compensation Base Salary:
$55,000-$65,000 annually , depending on experience, qualifications, and mechanical background.
