We have become one of the most reputable trucking companies in the region, covering most of the PNW. We are seeking a dedicated professional to manage our team of driving associates. As a Driver Manager, you'll play a crucial role in maximizing productivity and fleet utilization. Your expertise will also be invaluable in coaching our driving associates to develop a strong, safety-minded fleet. With your exceptional skills and leadership, we'll continue to exceed their expectations and build lasting relationships. As a Driver Manager, you will attend meetings with our valued customers, manage our fleet by assigning loads and ensuring coverage for all shifts, and prioritize hot and add-on shipments. Additionally, you'll communicate with on site personnel on any service issues and manage our Carrier Safety Program to meet customer requirements. You'll also oversee yard activities, perform daily checks, and address trailer dwell time and maintenance issues. Ensuring accurate documentation, collecting and reviewing driver paperwork, and managing timely billing and invoicing will be part of your responsibilities. As a skilled Driver Manager, you'll schedule, plan, and dispatch driving associates while effectively managing time off and hours of service. Coaching our driving associates to reach their highest potential will be crucial, and you'll work closely with HR/Safety when needed. Safety is our priority, and you'll proactively communicate our expectations and messages to driving associates. You'll discuss load details and service expectations with drivers on every plan, providing timely and meaningful in-person reviews to recognize and motivate great work. Your active contribution to achieving organizational objectives and collaboration with our recruiting and HR teams will drive our success further. To thrive in this role, you should possess an associate's degree in a related field or have at least 4+ years of relevant experience. Dispatch experience of 2+ years is required, and your ability to lead a team and meet company targets is essential. Attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, critical thinking, and decision-making skills are highly valued. Knowledge of DOT compliance and regulations is preferred. As a Driver Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include: Coordinating activities between plant personnel and drivers, ensuring proper coverage and tractor utilization on the correct routes. Attending meetings as required by our customers and managing the activities of the Dedicated Fleet, assigning loads to drivers and ensuring coverage for planned and unexpected absences. Prioritizing hot and add-on shipments and providing immediate communication for any service issues with plant personnel. Managing the Carrier Safety Program to meet customer requirements and scheduling appointments as necessary. Overseeing yard activities with Spotter Drivers, performing daily checks, and addressing trailer dwell time and maintenance issues. Distributing, collecting, and reviewing driver paperwork and ensuring timely billing and invoicing. Planning, dispatching, and managing driving associates' schedules and ensuring compliance with hours of service regulations. Coaching driving associates for improvement, providing training and documentation to help them reach their highest potential. Working with safety to communicate expectations and promote a culture of safety among driving associates. Conducting in-person reviews, praising great work, and assisting others in achieving organizational objectives. Collaborating with HR on employee status changes, recruiting, and advising on rehiring decisions. Assisting with load board checks, communicating freight needs with sales, and building new routes. Contributing to new hire orientations and overseeing HR/safety training and employee satisfaction initiatives. To succeed in this role, you should have an associate's degree in a related field or at least 4+ years of relevant experience. Dispatch experience of 2+ years is required, along with the ability to lead a team and meet company targets. Attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, critical thinking, and decision-making skills are also essential. DOT compliance knowledge is preferred. The Driver Manager manages up to 45 driving associates. Working closely with operations and sales, identifying routing and freight needs, and with the HR/Safety department identifying coaching and retraining as needed to develop a strong safety minded fleet. As a Driver Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall satisfaction, retention, safety, and profitability of your fleet.
